This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

The location was perfect for me, 10 minutes walking from the train / bus station and on top of a light hill, so the view from our room was incredibly nice. (This also means that if you are going on foot you have to walk uphill, no big deal for us, but if you have heavy luggage it could be difficult). Both dinner and breakfast were japanese-style, but not too traditional on both taste and texture (I say this as a plus, because my partner is not keen on super traditional Japanese cooking and still managed to eat most of his breakfast). We were also offered non-meat options beforehand, which is great! The building is a mixture of western and japanese styles, so for example the common room has high tables and chairs and a parquet, while the rooms have tatami. Everything was lovely, the common area had a beautiful terrace with a view, our room had a small balcony with outside seats and a private onsen bathtub. The owner is a very nice man and we chatted during dinner. We speak good enough Japanese, so language wasn't a problem, but the owner also speaks good enough English and is very helpful. We had free access to coffee, tea and water from the common room and two complimentary water bottles in the room.

Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

Interamente riservato ai non fumatori, il Kannawaen offre un giardino, una terrazza e un bar a Beppu. Struttura bellissima. Stanza stupenda con onsen privato interno ed esterno, bellissima vista dal balcone.

Situato a 7 minuti a piedi dalla stazione JR Daigaku di Beppu, lo Shiosai-no-Yado Seikai presenta lussuose sistemazioni con sorgente termale all'aria aperta e vista sull'oceano, ampi bagni termali... Amazing, large rooms with great views. The private onsen was great. Also, best restaurant we've tried in Japan (we chose the Japanese option). Would have stayed longer.

Big rooms. The breakfast and dinner were both great and affordable. They even had a string quartet playing over dinner which was cool.

AMANEK Beppu YULA-RE presenta una sala comune, una terrazza, un ristorante e un bar a Beppu. Modern hotel with great facilities. The pool on the roof makes a difference - this is not very common in Japan. Very good location close to many good restaurants and city center.
