Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLittle too strong on the hallway scent. Waterbottle filter wasn’t working ( but they had filtered water alternative option).

United States1.) Parking is very limited and pricey. 2.) The coffee shop downstairs was painfully sloooooow on service. There are multiple cafes in the area, so my suggestion would be to walk to one of those if you don't want to wait 30 minutes for a coffee or snack.
Great location in downtown Boise and walking distance to everything. I stayed with my dog and the room was very accommodating for her as well. Loved the ambiance of the room with minimalist details. I was able to work remotely too without a Zoom-room view of a bed in the background - so great for work travel as well.

FranceThere is building in construction right in front of the hotel, be aware it will get loud all week, the hotel is doing great and has earplugs available at the check-in desk, if you need.
Great location, very comfortable beds, the room was extremely clean. Staff were friendly, all areas of the hotel are clean. Located 4-5 minutes walking to the center. I will stay there again.

GermanyRooms facing the alley can pick up early morning noise from garbage and glass collection. Not ideal for very light sleepers, but a small thing in an otherwise excellent stay.
Stayed here twice during a longer solo trip and The Sparrow quickly became one of the few places I felt I could actually relax. The hotel is recently renovated — very clean, fresh, and well thought through. Rooms are simple, modern, and have a quiet sense of place that reflects Idaho without trying too hard. Location is excellent: close to downtown, the Greenbelt, food spots, but still calm. Free on-site parking is a plus, though it can fill up at peak times. There’s no full breakfast, but the café in the lobby has coffee and light bites and the food truck parked just outside offers great casual options. What stood out most was the reception team — calm, grounded, helpful and quietly observant in a way that’s hard to fake. There’s a kind of stillness in this place and they’re a big reason for it.

United StatesJust the available parking. If you have a large or tall vehicle, it will be tough to find a place to park.
Everything is top notch except the minimal parking. There is a room ratio to available parking spaces problem. You might have to park around the corner at another hotel at a cost of $20 per night

United StatesThe shower was beautiful, but the shower head pressure was just abysmal. It took forever to rinse the shampoo and conditioner from my hair. Also, the bath products provided have very strong smells. They are scented from natural herbs and such, so not perfume-y per se, but still strong. If you are sensitive to scents, bring your own products. Including hand soap. The room was very clean and nice, except for the coffee station. When I went to make a cup of coffee in the morning, I noticed the kettle provided was quite dusty. I opened it and there was a couple inches of water inside it from a previous user, which I thought to be a little gross. Upon inspection, the interior bottom had white spots all over it. It looked like a cleaning would be necessary before use. So I was unable to brew a cup of coffee in the morning, which was a real bummer. Additionally, the parking said on the website that it was first come first serve. I thought that meant that if you could find a spot in the lot, you could take it. Upon arrival, we learned that it was reserved paid parking. So whoever checked in first got first dibs on renting a spot, and if you arrived late, the spots would all be rented. And that was the case for us. But they went above and beyond to help us get a good spot on the street, which was super awesome.
Super fun architecture and decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. The eco friendliness was nice overall. They have a wonderful outdoor space with several seating and gathering areas, and the location is fun. Being downtown and near the university, there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the general vibe is fun and laid back.

United StatesIf you aren't traveling light, this is not the hotel for you. It was really inconvenient to haul stuff from parking lot to curb, haul our stuff up three steps, open a door to a stairwell to fetch a flimsy trolley, and then load it up. If you are traveling with lots of stuff (I was traveling with a disabled child and service dog plus lots of medications, etc), the rooms are an effort to get your stuff into.
Staff was so great--went out of their way to accommodate us in several ways. Loved the room, the bed, the lobby with the awesome cafe.

Excelent location, modern, pet friendly and the rooms and bed are very comfortable.. the coffee shop in the lobby is really good! A very cute touch- they prepared for the dogs a blanket, ball, a foldable silicon bowl for trips, waste bags and a bandana with the name of the hotel. What a great welcome for our pups!

United StatesThis hotel is so fun! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations for where to grab a cocktail before dinner. There was construction going on across the street. The hotel offered complimentary ear plugs, and we needed to check out pretty early so it wasn't a big deal for us.

United StatesThe acoustics could be softer. It would be nice to have reading lights on both sides of the bed instead of just one side. It would be helpful to have a stand of some sort to put a suitcase on instead of on the floor. I would appreciate free parking onsite.
The hotel staff was very friendly, kind and eager to help make our stay as pleasant as possible. I especially appreciated the recommendations for suggested activities that were within waikng distance of the hotel.
