Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe property didn’t feel very secure, particularly due to the outdated key system with no additional lock options from inside. No staff presence or reception near the building I was assigned, which added to safety concerns. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable most of the time; I had to rely on my mobile hotspot. The bathroom was quite old and cramped. There were no proper wardrobes or adequate storage facilities. No elevator—had to carry heavy luggage up the stairs to the second floor.
The room was good with two queen-size beds, quiet, and comfortable with an AC and two lights. A washing machine and dryer are added advantages. If someone wants to experience what life was like here 100-150 years ago, this is a good place. We can understand the great standards maintained a century ago.

United StatesThe person at check in didn't seem to understand what was going on. They didn't know whether our room had a bathroom or not. Then we had to pay extra to have a room with a private bathroom. Check in too about 30 minutes because they had to keep going up and down the stairs. The room didn't look like it had been cleaned in ages. The bathroom was falling apart

United StatesThe pictures on the advertisement did not match. We were led to a separate building that was VERY sketchy and the room did have an AC but was very minimal and very old and not clean. Walls and ceilings were gross. Shared bathroom and kitchen were gross. The fridge was not working and was warm… folks staying in other rooms were sketchy…. Sheets had holes and were not very clean. Someone kept leaving the door to the shared area open and unlocked.
The lady at the front desk was very nice.

United StatesThis is not a hotel. It’s a small (barely) step above a hostel and a FAR CRY from a “hotel”. We shared a “suite” (apartment) with 3 other groups of people. One bathroom between us that was inexplicably not stocked with any basic amenities other than 1 ply toilet paper (which, considering this was a hostel, makes sense. But again, didn’t know that). The layout is a small bedroom per booking, most barebones thing I’ve ever seen (I am including some French hostels in that statement) some rooms right next to each other. I heard our neighbor snore and turn in his bed several times with *alarming* clarity. The doors lock, but if I leaned on them hard enough they’d probably break open. At no point was I led to believe that I’d be sharing a bathroom with 6 other guests, I passed on a similarly priced place because the ad for the other one told me I’d be sharing a bathroom with ONE other guest, definitely didn’t want to share with 6. I selected a room with one large bed when I booked and it was… A bed? Tried to plug a fan in and tripped the breaker (reset it myself, AC was all I could run without blowing the fuse) Sheets appeared clean, no bedbugs (as of the time of this review)(this is not something I should have to say here, but if you saw the room you’d understand), Had this been advertised as a hostel and not a hotel, I wouldn’t be bringing any of this up. It is likely the most affordable place to stay in the city of Boston, hands down, but considering the fact that you’re paying for a spring mattress and four walls made of paper, it’s not a great option even at the relatively low price point. This website is a good resource for the reality you’ll face here, far more accurate reviews than I saw elsewhere, heed the warnings and do what you will with the information you find. If you’re backpacking alone and looking to crash for a night, go for it, the location is convenient and it’s cheap. Otherwise splurge for a real room. Staff is lovely
The staff were very pleasant, made conversation and were extremely polite and as accommodating as possible, not a bad word to say about anyone working there, 10’s across the board for these lovely humans

United StatesI didn’t like the fact that I was told I could be accommodated by one person and then told after I packed up all my stuff with a sprained ankle I could no longer be helped. I’ve stayed here many times and given a lot of business to Farrington inn and I was offended by the fact I couldn’t change rooms when the room i requested was vacant and was told I couldn’t be accommodated in regards to my injury.

United StatesThe outside picture is better then inside. All hotel us very old and dirty, it require the renovation. In the room there were a dirty carpet, a cover on the bed, beds were terribly creaky. There were no even electric pot in the room, no small fridge. The bathroom also very old and not seems clean. And no any common space. We stay for one night, just sleep, but I can't recommend this hotel. I will chose another one for my next trip.
The good location, 10 min walking to metro or bus. The personal was polite.

United StatesI was told I could check in as early as 830am so I responded that I would be there by 9-10am but when I arrived they didn't have a room available for at least an hour. I just wondered why offer an early checking if it wasn't available.
The room wasn't terrible just a little old it was mostly clean but some dirty areas like the mirror, the microwave and along the walls on the floor. There was left over trash under the furniture from a previous guest. The bed was clean and comfortable. Overall it was an okay stay but for the 125$ it could be better.

United StatesEverything is old and worn — starting with the front steps one has to climb to get to the front desk. There are actually 2 Farrington buildings, and they aren’t next to each other. Fortunately the one staff member on Sunday duty helped me get my luggage to the second building. While he told me quite specifically how to enter the building and my room so I wouldn’t get locked out, he didn’t mention anything about the heat - even though the outside temperatures were going to dip into the 30s. The building is not centrally heated. My room had one space heater that was on a timer, and a second plug-in one, that he did not mention. There’s a small microwave, without a turntable. I could boil water for tea. I had to go to the local friendly Night Star convenience store for teabags and a cup, as well as a plug-in charger for my iPhone and batteries for the TV remote — which still didn’t work. The bed had an elderly innrerspring mattress that was not really comfortable. And the bedding was not quite up to the temp of the room. And I felt cold most of the time. The towels had also seen better days, and there was no bath mat for the floor next to the shower. Then there were my upstairs neighbors, who returned from their evening fun and frolic at 2 AM, scraping furniture, walking pretty heavily, and talking loudly enough for me to hear.
The room was good-sized.
