Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We loved our room! It was spacious and had a super comfy bed. It was easy for us to get around Cambridge from the hotel. Everyone we interacted with on staff was friendly from check-in to breakfast. We decided to get breakfast there the next day, and though on the pricey side for us, was really delicious.

United StatesI was a little disappointed that there wasn't a microwave in the room. There was a microwave down in the lobby, but we had some leftovers that we wanted to have late at night after our concert. It would have been nice to be able to heat them up in our room. We definitely didn't want to have to go down to the lobby in our pajamas for something like that. It also would have been nice for there to be an ice machine on every floor, having to go down one floor from our room just to get ice was a little inconvenient.
This hotel was fantastic! The location was ideal for what we came to Boston to do (concert at Fenway), and the hotel itself exceeded my expectations. When I first arrived, there was some sort of issue printing the room key. The concierge escorted me to the room personally, helped me with my bags, and opened the room using a master key. My travel companion hadn't arrived yet, so I went back down to the lobby to wait and since they were still having issues printing out the keys, another member of the concierge staff brought me over to the hotel's café area and told the staff there to please get me any food or drink on the house. The overall decor of the hotel was amazing. I was extremely impressed by the lobby, café, and restaurant areas. With the hotel's proximity to MIT and Cambridge, I thought it was a really nice touch to go with the academic theme. I wish our stay had been longer, because I would have loved the opportunity to spend time in the café area. They had what looked to be very comfortable seating that offered privacy for either intimate conversations, or uninterrupted work. There was even one of those sound proof pods where you could make a private phone call if needed. The view from our room was incredible. We were overlooking the Charles, and the view of the city skyline at night was gorgeous. It was wonderful to be able to see some crew teams practicing out on the water in the mornings. The Paperback Tavern was a highlight of our stay. It had a cozy feel while still being fairly open to the rest of the hotel, and it had a fantastic view of the river. Breakfast was included with our stay and I was expecting your typical continental breakfast, but it turns out that we were allotted $30 per person and were able to order off their regular menu. They had a variety of great breakfast options, as well as lattés and cappuccinos. We also had dinner there the second night of our stay and loved the food and cocktails we ordered. Great stay...

United StatesThis is just a pet peeve about all hotels. I do not support destination fees and this one was the one 'peeved' me the most. I dislike it when a fee is charged for the use of facilities - many of which are not used. In this particular case, we did use the shuttle, but did not need any discounts for activities in the area. First of all, we were not looking for any on this trip and secondly, I can find deeper discounts on my own. I would rather have the destination fee eliminated and have that amount included in the price of the room. I was also curious as to why there were no soda/snack machines available. Neither of these are complaints - simply opinions and wonderings. Overall, we were very please with the hotel.
Every single member of the staff that we had contact with was efficient and personable. We needed a hotel close to MIT and this met our need. The shuttle was a bonus. It took us to within walking distance of the restaurant we had chosen in Harvard Square. I had booked two rooms and the fact that they were not closer together was not a problem. The staff clearly made an effort, but we chose to take two rooms that were ready and waiting. The rooms had everything we needed and everything was immaculate. The garden in the back was lovely. The view from breakfast at the restaurant was lovely, especially watching a family of geese amble across Memorial Drive as traffic stopped for them. Great walking around the Charles. It was nice to be able to leave our car in the parking garage after checkout. Two of us walked while two more took a college tour. When we came back from our walk, we waited in the lobby for about half an hour. A staff member brought us bottled water and had a pleasant conversation. The hotel met all of our needs and I would recommend it if you need to be in that area.
