After staying at other properties, I would probably say that I didn’t enjoy the coed bathrooms but it wasn’t too much of an issue

Staff were great. Checking in/out was easy. I didn’t realize that they offered free breakfast the last time that I stayed here so I took advantage of that during this visit. Overall, I do recommend this property and would stay again.

It was okay but I didn’t like that there were no curtains around the bunks. It was hard to sleep as one of the ladies had to sleep with a light so it was a bit rough sleeping through the night.

Hands down the best place to stay in the heart of San Diego. The whole place is well-equipped, welcoming and picturesque. But most of all, the staff are super duper kindhearted, generous and thoughtful. They always brighten people's days. It is clear that they love their craft, their community, and the planet as well (they have a lot of earth-friendly policies that were in no way inconvenient).

The stairs were actually steep. They have no elevator nor do they have separate showers for Male and Females.

There are not many bathrooms and are mixed, so no womans only etc, however they were clean at anytime.

The location is great and the staff was nice as well. They provide free towels to borrow and a very simple complimentary breakfast (cereals, oranges, coffee, tee). Good place for a weekend away.

I understand this doesn't have to do w/ the hostel it self but there was someone in my room who was ill, coughing of all time of day and night. Rarely left the room. I had to deal with this the whole time. There could be more seating area for the lounge/game room.

I liked how there were cotton towels rather than paper for hands, eco eco-friendly. There was never a line for the bathroom or showers. Had weekly events.

No soap in the showers. Really, I should have expected and planned for this, but I've not stayed in a hostel for a while and didn't think about it. The pillow was tall and overly firm. I'm particular about pillows. This probably won't affect most people. I still slept alright.

Just a chill place with really helpful easy going staff. Its clean and well maintained. The price is good even for a hostel.

The guests in my room were loud, making noise with their luggage/the lockers at midnight for 30 min and again early in the morning. Not the fault of the property, just wish more people understood hostel etiquette

Such a nice place, very ambient with a large common area with sofas and plants. There is also a lounge/game room and an eating area. One of the best hostel kitchens I've seen (more restaurant style with large stoves and large fridge). Staff was very friendly. Facilities were clean. Convenient location. They have space to store you luggage from 8am on the day you check in to 6pm on the day you check out. Towel rentals (including beach towels) at no extra charge. Lockers in each room (you need a padlock for them though). Beds have curtains and a little light and outlet to charge phone.

Sometimes reception plays the music too loud. It's not that reception is playing the music too loud at their desk, I mean there are speakers over the stairs, sofas, and in the bathrooms that carry the music throughout the common areas. To be fair, they turned down the music when I asked, but that put me in the position of being the grumpy old man raining on the parade. It was just a bit much.

Cool place. An outlet for every bunk bed, and one in every locker, so you can charge and secure electronics at the same time. Fast internet. Free coffee and chocolate milk, plus free cereal, oatmeal packets, and canned fruit every morning. Supermarket is within walking distance. So is the train station. Bathrooms were very clean. I would stay again.

The location was great, the rooms were clean, and there was some cereal, oatmeal, and coffee in the morning. Also, it was really nice that there were activities organized every night, so that is a great way to meet people!
