How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel was nice back in the day, however now it’s dated and rundown. Just to point out a few things, the bed was lumpy and offered no support whatsoever, the lighting in the room was dim and dreary, the shower was small and tight, and the toilet was very low on the floor. Furthermore, breakfast was not offered as part of the stay, and parking was provided for a $10 fee. The entire hotel was in desperate need of a total renovation!
Front desk staff were friendly.

It needs renovation! The hotel was built in the 80s. The carpet needs to be taken out! Mold in bathroom, the doors have no locks.

Breakfast included was advertised, but the morning I went to get breakfast, I was told it was cook to order only and that I would have to pay for it unless I had a coupon. I didn't know anything about a coupon. I ordered a breakfast bowl and waited 35 minutes for it. A table of four ordered after me and was served before me. Just seemed dishonest. Also, there was no mini-fridge or microwave available in the room.

I was upgraded but given a room with peeling paint and water stains on the ceiling. The cabinet the microwave was on was falling apart.
The check in lady was very nice, even though when I got in line there were 5 people

The extra $10.00 (unexpected) fee for parking. The extra $50.00 fee for security deposit (not stated by booking.com), the room cleanliness and temperature, the food at breakfast, the tired looking decor, and the overall out-dated appearance of the hotel.
The staff was very pleasant and efficient.

The awful night shift front desk. Then grimy e .
It seemed very familiar to Embasy Suites but run down and half the amenities of an Embassy Suites. The night shift front desk black woman was awful. Looked like she hated her job and it was obvious she did hate the job and the people staying there. What a contrast to woman earlier that worked hard to help the custumers.

Given it's location near the capitol and at the intersection of multiple busy streets, getting in and out of the parking lot was a little tricky. This is a minor (very minor) comment.
This hotel is a little bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The room was also quiet, which was surprising given this an atrium style hotel where the rooms look in on an open atrium. There were multiple gatherings of people in the atrium during our stay and the noise, which was obvious when we opened the door, was not distracting when the door was closed. The breakfast was solid. Better than cheaper "motel" breakfasts, not as fancy as made-to-order kinds of breakfasts available at more expensive lodgings.

The first room we were put in hadn't been cleaned, towels all over the floor, bed linens a mess and it smelled. The second room was clean but TV didn't work. Also the lady at the desk seemed completely unbothered by the state of the room she put us in, not so much as an apology. Same trash in hallway by the elevator from early evening until check out. Also no information given on amenities.
