How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was near Lonnie and ice machine so you heard a lot of noise in the room.
Had great bed. The pool was nice and everything was extremely clean.

Beds had some hairs and crumbs. That's a bit unsettling! Shower could use some new caulk and a different faucet set. Had to really yank up on the pull to get it to switch to the shower head. Pricing was dramatically lower than we paid on a competitor's website. That was disappointing to discover after we booked...
Finally, a hotel with soundproofing in the walls. Usually there is none and you can hear everything. I walked out into the hallway around 10:30pm and could hear people talking from their rooms. However, when I was back in the room I couldn't hear them. Wonderful.

We asked for disability accommodations, and the Booking agency didn't provide that. But the management/staff of the hotel worked to make sure that we could get into a room that had a walk in shower and a wider room for my wife's walker and disability.

The walls very thin and not soundproof. The occupants of adjoining room extremely loud and you could hear entire conversation.
Upon check-in, front desk staff personable and helpful. Room was nice but odor in hallway.

With temps in the mid 90’s during the day and hiking. It was frustrated to come into the room with the air conditioner not working. We thought maybe it was trying to catch up and may take awhile. The next day I asked the desk about a new unit. That afternoon the owner knocked on the door and removed a new unit from the crate and installed it. Worked like a charm!
This booking was a great value.

Children running on the upper floors, you could hear it clearly in the room Hair in the shower, sinks and towels. The bedsheets had picks and pillings on them. The parking is not so good. If you dont get a spot early, you will be forced to park in a upper lot which is a decent walk to the hotel.
Location was very convenient to where I needed to go. Highway accessible

The cleanliness, well supplied breakfast, comfortable rooms were all great as we had hoped. It was the staff who made the experience even more positive for us right from receptionist at checkin who warmly welcomed us with great efficiency and friendliness and helped when we asked about local restaurants. The house staff were friendly in acknowledging us with a greeting and smile. The Manager especially circulated at breakfast to greet and ensure that all guests were taken care of and then again spoke when we happened to be in the elevator together. Top marks for this establishment which we recommend. Thank you.

I wouldn't say it was unclean, but I did notice some stains on the couch. Also, there was a strange smell I couldn't quite place. The door to the shower would not stay closed, so that was annoying as well.
It was overall a good hotel for the money. The bed was comfortable, but my daughter who slept on the pull out said it was fair. The staff was very friendly, and helpful.

Very close to the builtmore property. Very clean, friendly and the usual for breakfast. Very close access to the highway so it's convenient for travel around Asheville.
