Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIt is situated about 30 min driving from Boston. Two flights of stairs to reach the apartment and the back road suitable for parking is a rough one full of potholes. Both of these were minor inconveniences for us.
Spacious and clean apartment with all the amenities and comforts necessary. Fully equipped kitchen. Detailed instructions given for keys, parking and check out procedure.

PakistanThe flat was quite high up on the stairs and having to carry luggage can be a bit cumbersome. The road to parking there is not in the best state so it is difficult to get there.
The house was clean and had all the amenities. It had places to connect chargers with usb in every room and it was rustic nice feeling.

United StatesStairs were a lot but doable. Some may have trouble but the landings were thick and safe. Front stairs - don’t even try them definitely use the back. However if you don’t have an SVU this isn’t the place for you. Way too many potholes and super unpaved road leading to the back parking which you need to use the most doable staircase. Road In desperate need of paving. Even with our SVU we had to drive super slow and carefully. Couches need a slipcover
Very comfortable and clean. Nice and quiet and a quiet neighborhood. Nice sized television in the living room. Coffee maker and coffee was good to have also. Cute

United StatesUnpaved road to back of house (to parking), old worn bath towels, no washcloth towels, low flow shower head with soft water made it really difficult to rinse off soap. No clothes washer/dryer- not an issue on this stay because only 3 days, but may not choose to stay here if on a 1 week or more stay.

UgandaThe air mattresses deflated and we didn't have a pump to reinflate them. The sitting room was a little cold and yet the kids beds were in there.
The host was very considerate of all the things one would need for a comfortable stay.

United StatesThere are skylights above the beds which I struggled with as once there is light I'm awake. I would bring an eye mask if light bothers your rest. The steps were challenging for me with suitcases.but my husband was ok so he did it. The bed was way too firm for me and the towels small and thin.
This apartment is on the top floor of a tall house up on a hill. When you sat on the porch you are in the tree canopy of large oaks. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. There was off street parking and it was close enough to get to everything we wanted to see and do.

CanadaThe drive up to the apartment was filled with potholes and worse than they described. The road is very uneven and difficult to drive on. Not warned enough. The stairs were also more than we expected and it was quite difficult getting our luggage up to the apartment. It was a little further out from the main city than we thought, but we made it work.
The kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and living rooms had everyone we needed. They provided plenty of suggestions for things to do around boston and even loaded bus cards. Worth the price. There was plenty of space within the apartment.

United KingdomIt is an hour's public transport into the City...which is fine. Bus 34 , 34e stop right outside the accomodation then the Orange line from Forest Hills. I would book something a bit closer next time if finances allow.
Very comfortable beds, good facilities

United StatesThe air conditioning was limited to an A/C unit in the bathroom and another in the living area, which was sufficient to cool the apartment but was somewhat noisy. Also, the drive up to the apartment is better suited for an SUV than a minivan because of the pot holes. The beds were a little more firm than desired but sufficient for a good night's rest.
The hosts were kind and very responsive and brought supplies we needed i.e. coffee cups. The shower had good water pressure. The apartment was clean. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, felt safe. The price was very affordable.

United KingdomGreat apartment and facilities. Everything you would need on a trip to Boston. Lots of info on what to do, transport, shops etc provided by the host. Easy access to the city centre on public transport, a little further out than expected but regular buses and trains, and the use of Charlie cards, made it all straight forward. For those who like shopping Dedham mall is only a few stops away. We loved our stay and Boston, so will definitely be back!

CanadaJulian did warn us the road leading up to the booking was bumpy and made of gravel, but I wish I had known to what extent, because driving a Mini Cooper up that road led to scraping the bottom of my car a couple times - not the host’s fault, any other car would do fine.
My friends and I came for the Taylor Swift concert at Foxborough and this was perfect. About halfway between foxboro and Boston, we were able to easily commute to both locations to maximize our stay. Julian had an emergency to attend to out of the country but was still able to accommodate us and communicate with us promptly :)

United StatesFirst, arriving at the property was met by the homeowner, which informed me that we could only have 1 car, and i received prior permission stating that yes, i could have 2. He then told us to carry things up and then where to park. He hovered over in our car while carrying things up 3 flights of stairs that we wasnt informed of. (Wouldn't have rented if known) we have 2 people with breathing difficulties and 1 on oxygen. Once in the house, it was 90 degrees with a/c on. Found what was supposed to be 5 beds, not knowing 2 were air mattresses in the front room. Also found what we believe is 3 cameras inside (frontroom, hallway by attic, (which charged fine for opening) and 1 outside bathroom and hallway door leading to homeowners part of the house. After 3 hours trying to cool place down, the themostate never moved off 90 degrees, we decided to rent a hotel. Have been trying to contact the homeowner and haven't been able to make contact with him. He left the premises after we got everything inside. Left a message for him and have tried to contact through here. No return message! On front door, advised not to wear shoes in house, they provide used slids/crocs for you to wear inside. The road that led to the property was awful. If you dont have a truck or suv, it will damage it. Beware dont loss money like we did!
Nothing about this property.

United StatesThe lack of AC in the bedroom was a definitely downfall. I'm from the South so I wasn't aware central air isn't a big deal up there. The Wi-Fi information given was incorrect but we were able to figure it out so honestly it really was not a big deal!
Very clean! Lots of space. Bed was very comfortable. I contacted Julian that I was traveling via plane and wanted to make sure if I needed toiletries and he assured me they would be on site for me and they definitely were. We loved sitting on the deck for coffee in the mornings.

FranceThere is no convertible Sofa , but only air mattress for the 5th guest, which had not been prepared by the owner...until the next day...and air mattress is not confortable at all, deflating. Some of the cooking devices didn't work (2 cooking plates); there was only 2 cups, glasses were all in plastic, and there was no table and chairs for 5 (except outside, but it rained often and mosquitoes were abundant !). Overall, no shutters on roof windows just over the beds in the 2 rooms!! So the house was very hot and it was extremely difficult to sleep well. The Washington road is very busy in the evening and morning, and well heard in the house. 1h bus and metro transportation to arrive in Boston Downtown.
I liked the cleanliness and the comfort of the queen and single beds.
