The king size bed was a little hard. Could be just me. Maybe add a pillow top bed pad? The only other item was the bathroom ceiling had chipped paint and mold. Probably because there is no fan in the bathroom. Need yo open window when showing. But it's an older Motel, what do you expect.

The toilet was a bit too close to the tub. There was no nightstand on one side of the bed... granted there wasn't a lot of room for one, but a smaller square one would work. You enter the room with a code, which was fine, but took a bit to master, but it was secure for sure.

It was right across from the Soo Locks and in the center of town. Easy parking at your room and within walking distance of most everything, even for 50+. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The AC and Heat worked well. The staff was amazingly helpful. Also... the attached restaurant is top notch!! 3 meals there and all were excellent.

No closet or hanging places for clothes that needed to be. Also no space for clean clothes in the bathroom. Water pressure in sink or plugged spigots made water splash everywhere just washing hands.

The window covering/drapes should be more substantial so the outside lights wouldn't shine in so much The wall air conditioner--need a newer model based on thermostat rather than set level and running all the time and not providing enough cool air. Breakfast space is limited and some hot items just warm

The main issue with all these older motels is the lack of accessible outlets to plug in electronics. There are so many easy solutions for this problem, starting with a small power hub that could be placed on the nightstand between the two beds. Problem solved! WiFi was OK, better outside of the room though.

If you want to be right in the middle of the action, there is nowhere else to stay in the Soo than Lockview Motel. It is literally across the street from the free locks, which is inside a lovely park, with a very nice visitor center and great viewing stand. To the left or right of the motel are many good cafes, bars, restaurants, a bakery, a bookstore, souvenirs, coffee shops, etc. We found the location to be perfect. Staff was super nice and although the rooms are not big, they've been updated and are pleasant enough for a 2-3 day stay.

The air conditioner ran continuously. Didn't bother me, but hubby didnt sleep well. Just a heads up if this might bother you.

The only negative comment I have was that housekeeping didn’t pick up some blue paper towels that were in the landscape bushes between my unit and the one adjacant. Looks like they had been there awhile. Also, whoever had cleaned my unit left the laundry bag outside by my steps all night and they were still there when I checked out.

The location of this property, on Portage Ave, across from the Soo Locks is fantastic! I also quite enjoyed the ground floor room I got, 120, which was a ground level room on the back side and it faced a lovely green grass area with some tables and chairs.

I would have liked a chair or two and maybe a closet or a dresser for luggage.

The location was amazing! It was right on the main drag & had parking on site. It was walkable to a lot shops, restaurants and the Soo Locks were right across the street 👍🤗

The beds were not as comfortable as we would have liked. A bit stiff. There weren’t enough outlets and nowhere to hang our clothes.
