Scooter rental was done swiftly at the resort. Breakfast was amazing. The pool was perfect. The rooms were comfortable. The setting was quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, but within easy reach by bike or the shuttle service provided.

We had a lovely stay, would definitely come back. Everything was really cozy, we enjoyed this stay. We had the room with private pool and was the best choice. Very clean, spacious, equipped with everything you need including some very nice kimonos. Actually, the room looks way better in reality than in the photos, it was a nice surprise. It's modern and very, very clean. The private pool was really cool and very clean. Also the public pool was nice, so were the outdoor spaces. The breakfast was very good and soooo much food. Lots of choices, you could never get bored. And it’s great that you can have breakfast until 5PM. I couldn't wait for the next day, to get to try another meal :)) The staff is amazing, very kind, very nice and friendly, always here to help. Good location, close to center and the beach.

The friendliness, kindness and helpfulness of the staff exceeded our expectations. We felt so at home and so welcome, that saying goodbye at the end of our stay was truly bittersweet. The staff (Chacha, Yuni, Jeff, Fina, and everyone else!) completely made this experience for us — and the atmosphere in the hotel was so fantastic because of this fantastic staff, they were beyond lovely, even by Balinese standards! An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water.     We chose Anantara Uluwatu Resort for our 4 days in Uluwatu. It was perfect! We loved the location, just on the cliff with amazing sunsets. Our room was super nice, cleaned and fresh with the ocean view. When we arrived we found some honeymoon gifts, very appreciated, thank you so much! ❤️ The staff in the hotel is very kind, always smiling and ready to assist/help you! Glass bottles of drinkable water are in the room and it is super nice since tap water is not drinkable in Bali. Breakfast is just perfect! The hotel has a wonderful infinity pool that we enjoyed in the sunset time. There are also 3 restaurants: one Indonesian, one Japanese and one for grilled food. We tried all of them and we had fantastic food all the time. We managed to see what we wanted to see in the Uluwatu area: - beaches like Padang Padang beach, St. Thomas beach, Impossibile beach (just below the hotel), Bingin beach, Nusa Dua beach, Melasti beach and Nyang Nyang beach - Uluwatu temple with Kecak dance (the staff of the hotel helped us to buy the ticket for the 6 pm show because we could not find them online) - Tanah Lot temple The hotel provides a free transfer to Padang Padang beach twice a day and to Uluwatu temple. It is a very useful service! We enjoyed also an evening in the spa since we got a discount when we were there so we had a body message. We also used the laundry service. Uluwatu area is famous for the monkeys, well we were super happy that we have not met any monkeys in the hotel and in our balcony. Everything was just perfect!

    The staff were super friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed chatting to them and they were even kind enough to give us advice on things to do. The pool and areas to relax. The breakfasts were delicious and the chocolate brownie was to die for. If you have a late flight you can use the facilities and they even provide a shower should you wish to have one before you leave for the airport.

    Kuta has fallen out of favour compared to newer destinations such as Seminyak, Canggu and Uluwatu. So there is less of a fun vibe in Kuta now in comparison. Accomdation prices in Kuta are lower to compensate for this so you get excellent value in Kuta. Kuta/Tuban are also very convenient for surfers who want close and easy access to Kuta Reef, Airport Lefts/Rights, etc.

    Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing. The beach close is quite nice (also for surfing) and in the night you can go close to the beach to visit some bars and clubs. The vibe is constantly there. You can also join some local hostel events and meet people there which is nice. More of a young people place, but always worth a visit.

    Seminyak is such a relaxing and vibrant place — great beaches, lovely cafes, and a calm atmosphere that makes it perfect for unwinding. The local people are friendly, and there are plenty of nice spots to enjoy good food and sunsets. However, it was disappointing to see quite a bit of rubbish around the area, especially near the beach and streets. It would be even more amazing if the cleanliness could be improved, as the place truly deserves it.

    Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. We enjoyed our 4 days there but there is definetly less activities except for luxurious cliff restaurant and beach clubs.

    I like the Sanur area of Bali for its combination of beach front activities and shops / cafes. Due to traffic, it can be a hectic drive from the airport, but in my opinion with the challenges of getting there. Additionally, Sanur is near the ferry dock for access to offshore islands (Nusa Penida and the Gili islands). If departing to go to the airport, leave plenty of time for the drive to the airport and it may be a lot longer than planned,

    Unfortunately , NP seems to have far too many visitors for what the road infrastructure can handle . The roads to all the local sightseeing hotspots are not wide enough for oncoming vehicle to pass each other without driving on the shoulder of the road ( if it exists ) and constantly causing further damage ,. The roads surfaced are very badly broken a terribly pot- holed . Vehicle journeys to the popular destinations take an inordinately long time with traffic banked up while cars try to pass each other when they can . On the plus ; the restaurants and beach clubs and bars serve excellent food and live music nightly was easy to find . And entertaining . The coastline scenery is fantastic . Itis why so many people make trip . The fast ferry services from Sanur to NP are very good and only 30 minutes .

    We liked the central location in Legian.

    We liked the central location in Legian. Hawkers should not attend hotel, this is rest time from shopping and bartering. Pad on Bene was our favourite place to eat anytime. Good food.Fat Tony’s burgers great. Water BOM amazing, our son went 4 times during our stay with great water slides. Traffic congestion to Changu and Ubud was horrendous. Took 2 hours for such a small distance.

    Sleepy island feels make Lembongan feel like a wonderful contrast to the expansion of Bali. Just enough development to provide some comforts and wellness, some great quality food etc - but still the old charm of the basics to enjoy. The nervous system reset when you need clean oceans, white sands and rustic experiences. The island has really cleaned up a lot in the last few years and you can refill water bottles in most places now; there’s a conscious feeling of preservation there which I appreciate a lot when travelling. Some fairly new developments to increase the accessibility and ease of travel with road improvements make life easier for a lot of travellers - and some fairly good gym and yoga locations appearing which is a great addition to the experience of the island.

    Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants.

    Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants. Rooms are tired in need of upgrades and painting , but were clean and a very powerful shower. Staff were amazing and a good buffet breakfast with fresh omelette/pancakes. Pool area was relaxing and could do with a few more sunbeds. Didn’t get to the beach but a good shuttle service available. Supermarket and ATM just across the road.
