How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was well kept. Huge, beautiful veranda. It was like I was staying in a villa. Huge accommodations. The owners were very accommodating. Great value. The only issue some may have (I did not), a short one mile walk to the City Center). However, I found this accommodations and surrounding area very safe.
I found nothing wrong with this property.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at Saska’s apartment and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, Saska went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. She is a genuinely kind-hearted host who made us feel truly welcome. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, she surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco, along with cookies and candy – such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The apartment itself was spotless, cosy, and very well-equipped with everything we needed to feel at home. It’s conveniently located about 2.5 km from the Old Town, with a bus stop, ATM, and grocery shops close by. We chose to walk into the Old Town each day, enjoying the safe and scenic coastal route. Airport transfers were also very easy to arrange directly with Saska, making our arrival and departure stress-free. Both Saska and her husband are exceptional hosts who clearly love taking care of their guests. Their warmth, attention to detail, and generosity made our stay memorable, and we would not hesitate to return.

Verified reviewThe host is truly one of the kindest and most wonderful people I’ve ever met during my travels in Croatia. She is absolutely fantastic—so warm, helpful, and thoughtful. I honestly feel a little regretful that we only stayed for two nights, because she made our time there so special. She guided us, helped us in every way, and even surprised us with a lovely little gift. It was without doubt the best stay I’ve ever had. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Dubrovnik!

Verified reviewWe loved staying here in Dubrovnik. Saška is the most wonderful and kindest host. She really made our stay extra special. Now that we're back, it's her that we miss most of all. The location was perfect for us - a halfway between the touristy part of Lapad and the Old Town, so you could easily walk to both places. The apartment was very spacious and felt very safe. You had all the mod cons that you could ask for if self-catering. The air con worked fine. Loads of wardrobe space for hanging and storing clothes. The outdoor seating area was ideal for breakfast and having a drink in the evening. Very quiet neighbourhood, so no trouble sleeping at night. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Dubrovnik. Saška, we love you.
Nothing to fault really.

Verified reviewExceeded my expectations. Plenty of space, clean, so well stocked, no detail spared. Host is so friendly & helpful. Nice balcony for eating. Beds are a bit firm, but plenty of clean linens & pillows. A/c in every room. Great location, quiet area, but close to beaches, bus, grocery stores, bakeries. Host left us wine, meat, cheese, snacks, coffee…..everything was above & beyond.
No problems.

Verified reviewThe apartment was immaculately clean and there were many added extras available to us. Saška was such a fantastic host - the weather was awful when we arrived so she brought us up some bread, cheese and ham so we didn’t have to venture out. Location was quiet and a handy walk to the beach and a bus ride to The Old Town.

Verified reviewSaska was very helpful throughout our stay. She explained all information required and helped us find the bus to Old Town. Upon arrival we had drinks and food to greet us. Each day Saska checked in to make sure all was well and suggested activities. She helped taxis find the location for pickup. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The accommodation is spacious and has everything needed.
There are no restaurants nearby but there are convenience stores so we managed. We ate on the way to Old Town and before coming back home.
