The hostel owner is such a rude man without manners towards the hostel staff, he said to me that he does not like Brazilian people. He shouts all the time in a very violent way to the staff. A true horror to witness. A very abusive individual.

The hostel is good for the cheap price. I had a private room and it was ok, kitchen is clean and well furnished, location is good, close to many supermarkets in Copacabana, good wifi, I could work during my days there. Just be aware that The room just had a van and not AC, for me it’s ok as I don’t mind but for someone suffering the heat may not be the best

There is no storage for bags. The rooms are quite small. The top floor has a dinning and work area but it could really use air conditioning as it is very hot

I wouldn’t say it was a social hostel

Location was great! Only a few streets back from the beach. It was on a well lit street so I felt safe. The staff were amazing and very friendly - especially Vinicius, he always made sure we were safe and had everything we needed - such a lovely person!

In the specific room I stayed in on the ground floor I was given the top bed, the aircon blew directly onto my bed and a/c fan was set on the strongest, so, not only I froze at night (and now have a flu), but the a/c blew so hard it made it difficult for me to sleep due to the noise The next day I managed to change the settings. The common area (a small lounge with couches and a TV) felt dingy, in the morning when I left at 6 there was a guy sleeping on the couch No plug to charge phone on the bed under me. Although the "negative" comments, overall it's ok, I'd stay again

The dorm room is very small for 6 beds (3 bunks), the luggage can barely placed anywhere. Blanket is thin when the aircon is on 23 degree (some guests demand low temperature).

Very good location for the room rate. Nearby to supermarket, pharmacy, eateries and beach etc. well equipped kitchen, 24 hours reception, aircon is on all the time in the room. Big lockers inside the room. Can still stay in the hostel after check out time.

More tables and chairs on the rooftop would be great and for some reason, men were coming into the girls room and using our bathroom. On NYE it was a mess so the staff member said no one could use it for health reasons until it was clean so appreciated the staff's concern.

There was some confusion with the booking, we stayed over NYE so fully booked out but the owner quickly fixed the problem and installed powerpoints for us on the extra beds. He also went and bought a new pillow, I guess he was one short. Good kitchen - air con worked, lockers present.

Good location. Besides the Copacabana beach being just a few blocks away. The area has places to wash clothes, gym supermarkets, rent a bike 🚲 stations, public transport. I personally think there were few bathrooms, but had no problems with that. There's no (filtered) drinking water. No elevator, but about 5 levels (to the kitchen and other things). Kitchen seems to have everything needed.

Is just that the kitchen is at 5th floor and there is not elevator but is worth it for the price.

The location is very near to the beach, the staff is always very helpful and nice. Vinicius was very nice to bring my big luggage to the 3rd floor!! So I recommend it!

We didn't know there wouldn't be an elevator to go up with the suitcases, but the staff were very helpful.

Perfect location, the staff was amazing, always with the biggest smile and disposition to help. The terrace was very nice and lively with people from the hostel. Rooms were very clean

The shower could suddenly turn extreemly hot, that you're almost burned. The airco makes a lot of noise.

Although the staff tried to keep the kitchen clean, other guests didn't clear up after themselves. We couldn't get into our room until late afternoon because they were doing repairs

Delay in getting room because of repairs being done, booking being cancelled and having to re-book because they couldn't take payment, kitchen often dirty, desperate best endeavours of staff, found maggot on table!!

Copacabana hostel is a nice place to stay with close facilities like: supermarket, gym, restaurants. People there are very friendly and helpful , clean areas. I like the big red tables in the kitchen and the view was calm. internet connection great!!! Leonardo is really good and speaks different languages.

​The Toilet was loose and the bathroom floor was wet from the leak.

Staff was very nice, at checking we got upgraded to an apartment they own nearby which was great to have, more privacy and space, The location is a great walking distance from everything including the Beach. we asked about Wifi password and the man in charge even give us his personal number in case we needed. l would stay again.

Plus: Centrally located with everything you need nearby. Only 8 min walk to Copacabana. Kind and friendly staff. Minus: The beds are HORRID because of plastic cover on the mattress that sticks to your body from the body heat. Thus resting / sleeping is uncomfortable. No hand soap in any of the toilets whatsoever(not good for hygiene). The kitchen needs an upgrade.

My second time here in two weeks, I came back because I was feeling great last time. The personnel were nice and helpful. I was in 5 hostels during my stay in Rio and this one was the best. I'm easy going, I don't need the luxury, I need nice people around, nice place and good energy. All of it you can find here.
