How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was great!!
The owner and daughter were very friendly, courteous and made sure we had passes to bus, let us check in early and were very accommodating.

More vegan options for breakfast please! Requested these ahead of arrival but none were there at breakfast, when non-vegans got a lot (pastries, for eg). We got some vegan yoghurt when we asked though, which was appreciated.
Staff were superb - very friendly and extremely accomodating. Bed was also comfortable and the shower was lovely. Would absolutely stay there again.

Easy to reach from the train station. Walking distance to the old town and tourist places that we wanted to see. Modern and very clean. Great communication with staff! They were also very kind and helpful to us. Overall, great stay!

Lift door had difficulty to open on its own

A little far from the old town, but busses less then every 10 minutes.
Fantastic hotel with helpful/kind staff. Rooms were clean and modern just like the pictures. Close enough to the train station to walk to but there is also a bus stop right outside the hotel where to take you all around the city, which was free. Breakfast was fantastic as well

This was in a nice location... just 6 minutes walk from the train station. Rooms were clean and breakfasts were delicious.

If you're noise sensitive, I'd recommend taking ear plugs as the traffic noise from the street is audible when leaving the windows open.
Really well appointed and super clean room with lots of storage space. Very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations - super tasty and varied, they even had pancakes! There was aircon - not a given in this area! The beds were very comfy, too. Great value for Salzburg, which is a very expensive city. Good bus connections into town, or you can walk along the river which takes about half an hour.

This is a very minor detail, but it would have been nice to have a towel hook/rack in the second bathroom where the toilet and sink are - to have a place to hang a hand towel. Also, a simple set of instructions on how to use the temperature control. The room became a bit on the warm side by the end of the day, and it was difficult to sleep with the window open because of the street traffic( which I have to say you can barely hear with the windows closed) but we couldn’t figure out how to adjust the room temp.
Everything was lovely and the location is good - especially if you have a car and require parking. If you like to walk, it’s about a 20 min. walk along the river to Old Town. If not, then a free bus/train pass is provided upon check-in. The rooms were clean and modern with huge bathrooms! Breakfast was good - fruit salad, breads, crepes, egg dishes, cold cuts, juice, yogurt and cereal. We were on the top floor in the second building and had a fabulous view - including a view of the fortress up on the hill : )

We did not like the ground in the property as it’s covered by gravels making us uneasy to walk along while currying our suitcases.

Was hard to keep the shower water IN the shower as is quite a deluge and the drain doesn't cope. The toilet seat kept coming off at the hinge. We asked for another pillow for our 2nd night but it wasn't supplied. Nor were we given coffees for the 2nd night. Aircon was a bit inneficient. We were looking out into a main road which was very noisy, so had to shut the window and use thr aircon, but it didn't cool the room much. Could have done with 2 pillows each as the ones supplied were a bit flat
A warm welcome, and easy to find. Parking. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast selection was pleasant, we enjoyed the crepes and toasties. There was British tea and the coffee was decent. A pleasant 20 mins walk to the old town.

Room can be a bit noisy due the proximity to road but not an issue when windows are closed.
We stay in the newly renovated room. The room is nice and clean. Breakfast is very good. The hotel is quite close to the train station and right outside a bus stop.
