This place is class! A huge stretch of white sandy beach with essentially just the hotel on it! We had a beachfront villa which we loved. The outdoor shower is so cool and it was amazing to open the curtains each morning and walk straight onto the beach! You are assigned a personal butler for the duration of the stay and you can contact them via WhatsApp at any time and for any request. A special shoutout to Malshan here! He was so professional and very responsive to all our requests. The pool is amazing - it is huge and there are shelves on the sides you can sit and lounge in to cool down! There are books, balls, volleyball and Pétanque around here to enjoy during the day! 😊 We chose to do the destination dining and the outdoor cinema add ons during our stay and just wow. All the food was sensational throughout our stay! I recommend French toast for breakfast and butter chicken for dinner!!! There are local fishermen who work on the beach, pulling in their nets and dealing with their catch, this was a very unique thing to experience! So much more I could mention!

The eco-friendly Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa - Thema Collection sits on the sandy shores of Passekudah Bay on the east coast of Sri Lanka. It offers Ayurvedic spa treatments, a beautiful infinity pool and spacious rooms and suites with private balconies with free Wi-Fi. The hotel welcomes all new guests with flower necklaces and cool fruit drinks. The breakfast buffet options are numerous. We ordered a la carte lunch & dinner, and the food was always exceptional. (Note, the first night we wanted something that they didn’t have but they ordered it for the second night.) The room was ok, but all rooms come with a comfortable balcony to make up for what the room lacks. Also, the bathroom is about the same size as the room. The beach and the ocean are by far the main reason to come here. The warm ocean water is unparalleled and the hotel staff do a wonderful job keeping their section of the beach clean. The pool area is also nice, but we came for the beach and spent most of our time there. The kid space is lacking, but that’s ok as long as you aren’t there when it rains. Lastly, all the staff we encountered were professional. They helped arrange our departure taxi which actually was rather reasonably priced; meaning same price everyone seems to charge tourists 200 rupees per kilometer (rather than what locals pay which is like 120-150). Overall, I highly recommend staying here.

The chef cooked new styles of curries for us everyday. The beach is very clean and beautiful.

The resort also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. We stayed in the cabin which was massive and extremely comfortable. Great bed, fridge, shower was ok too. Lovely balcony. The remoteness suited us. Probably better if u have transport as you are a bit isolated but food and drink are available. The rustic beach has poop on it from the cows and goats that pass but it didn’t offend us, we liked watching them. Great to watch the fishermen too. We loved it.

Beautiful hotel with huge swimming pool, nice, clean and spacious rooms, well-kept beautiful garden and big beach. Meals are ok, huge choice of dishes. Nice and polite staff. Just perfect🤩 there are a few restaurants in the neighborhood of the hotel, but rather tuk tuk is needed to get there.

A spa, fitness centre and restaurant are available. Loved everything about this stay. It was very relaxing. The hotel has used the land and the private beach area in the most efficient manner. Very picturesque with the blue colour waters, we took a lot of photos! You can either swim in the private beach of the hotel and see corals, or walk over to the public beach without corals. The pool was good, lounge beds spreaded over the area provided a nice place to experience the wind and the sunsets. There was a lot of guests at the hotel but it did not feel overcrowded. Staff are very polite. Buffets were nice. They also had a place to play board games. Also jet ski, paddle boats etc were offered for additional charges. Staying for more than 1 night was a good choice. Will definitely go again.

No disturbances on the beach at all !! Very seldom you find something like this for yourself only. Very peaceful and great place to stay !! The Sunny weather and sandy beach was a perfect location for our stay ! We prefer privacy for our stay and which we found at Giman Free Beach Resort. Great staff and free wi fi, great sea food straight from the local fisher folk from the daily catch !! We were told there is traditional Ayurveda treatment at the Resort by our friendly UK guest at the Resort but we did not have time to experience same. We will be back next year !!
