I recently spent my holiday at Pinipahana Walauwa in Matara, located down south in Sri Lanka, and it was a wonderful experience. The property is a charming, well-maintained heritage-style house with a peaceful atmosphere and clean surroundings. One of the highlights was the English breakfast, which was absolutely delightful and well-prepared. I also enjoyed the dinner options, which came at an additional cost but offered a good variety to choose from and were very satisfying. The location adds to the experience with a serene pool and a distant sea view, creating the perfect setting to unwind. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with a touch of history!

Great place with lovely staff and owner who were really helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious with a nice view and the AC works perfectly. Included breakfast was really good, they also offer fresh juices every day. We’ve enjoyed a good massage in the onsite spa. There are nice beaches just a few minutes drive away.

We loved this beautiful peaceful hotel. Set on huge well looked after grounds on a quiet beach, we could not have found a more relaxing place to spend a few days. The open room was gorgeous and we loved the birding even from the shower! The hotel food was great but do yourself a favour and also try Funny Banana just a few steps away on the beach.
