I think I chose the wrong time to visit the island..
I think I chose the wrong time to visit the island.. Almost the whole time it was raining. The water was rough around this side of the island, and locals suggested to avoid getting into the water for safety reasons. Couldn't do much of exploring due to the weather. If you wish to enjoy the island, the best thing to do is avoid travelling between June to October (rains are unpredictable and annoying). Towards the end of October till about March, the place can be a gem.. This may probably be another reason why it's considered as the peak season by many travellers. Avoid staying in 1-hotel as travelling can take up a lot of time. Split your stay in 3-zones. North = Vinpearl + Star Fish beach + Grand World. South = Cable car, serene beaches, pearl factory, leisure time Central = Temples and markets and city tour, etc. + easiest to reach the Airport. Remember - check-in times are usually 12pm and check-out is 10am. Plan your arrival/departure accordingly. Another important thing to keep in mind is Food. If you have food restrictions, please book places which serve international food rather than just Vietnamese cuisine. Travelling around the city can be free. Yes - thanks to their Green Bus. But the flip side is the accessibility and timing. Routes are defined and based on the routes, bus timings differ(sometimes the wait can be more than 1hr, depending on the location you are at or where you need to go). Overall - I think I'll need another visit(maybe longer - 4 nights and 5 days) and at a different time of the year (Nov/Dec) to properly explore the whole Island and experience all that's there :)Guest review byShownak - 10.0

-The hotel is located next to the Kieu River, the night market and the walking street. Almost next to famous places in Can Tho. -The staff is cheerful and professional. -Full services: Cai Rang Floating Market Tour, Con Son Garden, Car rental, laundry,... If you come to Can Tho, try to stop here. It is worth the experienceGuest review byVinhUnited States - 10.0

It has a great vibe, busy without being overwhelming, a nice little promenade and park along the Mekong and a pretty good dining and street food scene. There were some Westerners, but it felt completely untouristy. On the downside, other than our Tra Su Forest and Cham Village tour and the local market, there’s not a hell of a lot to do.Guest review byLaurieUnited States - 8.0

Ha Tien is an interesting area, sprawled out along the ocean, consisting of waterfront, restaurants, beaches, and swimming areas. places to drive and walk and explore. I have fun on my motorbike, ranging all over the area and felt quite safe. There are newer, developing areas and older established areas. The downtown areas seem to have pretty basic hotels not many foreigners here as it’s a favourite for Vietnamese people to visit during the holiday holidays.Guest review byNigelCanada - 8.0
Ca Mau City is a stopping-off place before heading to Ca Mau...
Ca Mau City is a stopping-off place before heading to Ca Mau Cape and its adjacent mangrove forests. Be aware that Cau Mau Cape has especial cultural significance to Vietnamese or Vietnamese/Chinese peoples - westerners (foreigners) are a rarity at the Cape - there were only two there on the Sunday my wife and I visited the Cape (me plus one German solo traveller). If you are looking to find the Ca Mau City Bird Sanctuary, stop now - it no longer exists!! Ninty percent of the old bird sanctuary has been built over by the new President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Park and the remain 10% is no longer accessible to pedestrians (locked closed) due to the high concentration of venomous snakes.Guest review byGraemeUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Bac Lieu has many interesting sites to visit.
Bac Lieu has many interesting sites to visit. The Cao van Lau theater is very interesting, but the light on the structure (the three hats) is off at night, not on as before. Instead, messy street vendors in front of the place makes it so unaesthetic. Moreover, a fighter jet placed inside the area of the theater is so aesthetic ugly. The Cao Van Lau memorial site is also worth to visit to know more about the cradle of the Vietnamese music.Guest review byTHONGUnited States - 10.0
What an interesting and wonderful area!
What an interesting and wonderful area! It's beautiful and there's so much to see - from the city itself with its very lively market, to the pottery area with its iconic kilns, to the adjacent island of An Binh, which is rural and very beautiful. We ended up changing our plans to stay in the Vinh Long area several days longer.Guest review byMarianneUnited States - 10.0
Mytho is a nice little town.
Mytho is a nice little town. Set on the banks of a busy river. very good markets and shops, restaurants etc. The Boat trip at night was excellent and even had a karaoke system that we could join in and sing as we travelled along the river.Guest review byjamesVietnam - 4.0
It is overrated island still not prepared for visitors.
It is overrated island still not prepared for visitors. If you have already been to Thailand or Bali than you can very much skip this island. Everything is very average except sunset town, thats the only thing we found worth visiting. People there are not courteous. The resorts are very average too. you have to negotiate for everything and every activity you wish to do there. Grab is not very easily accessible. The cost of grab, activities, boat ride (island tour), cable car, star fish beach, etc. is all very expensive and not what influencers have portrayed for thus island. Overall, we found phu quoc very underwhelming and not worth a visit.Guest review byKinjalAustralia
