The location is perfect with a great restaurant called Kindred Fare within walking distance. We all loved the pool and Jacuzzi. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and had many choices. Staff was very friendly and polite. Over all a win, win!

    Loved This Place! Stay Here!!! Property Owner/Host Marcus is wonderful! He upgraded our room upon arrival. Great and helpful information on Idlwilde Inn's website regarding house and grounds, Watkins Glen. Check it out before you book. Beyond charming property, delicious breakfast, coffee and tea available 24/7, within walking distance from town (it is on a hill, so anyone with impaired mobility would need to take a car), convenient parking.

    Location next to the waterfall walk was fabulous as was proximity to the rest of the town. The property was recently renovated and although the room was on the small side for a family of 4, it was more than adequate for our needs. The owner was very friendly and very kind in helping direct me to a couple of restaurants who could accommodate my gluten free needs. This level of care was very much appreciated.

    This family place is simply magical. The atmosphere is relaxed and the hosts are so nice and attentive. It's especially nice to walk along the stream adjacent to the resort and enjoy the relaxing path and the chairs scattered throughout the area to sit and listen to nature. And in the evening just sit around the campfire and have a drink of cold beer and eat something. Absolutely perfect.

    The staff are very nice and accommodating! Pets are welcome! The room itself is clean and smells good. The motel has a pool, a cute gazebo and rocking chairs! They had breakfast (coffee, muffins, danish, donettes). The view from our room was nice. We can see the Seneca Lake. Location is nice, not too crowded and 5min drive to Watkins Glen downtown.

    Beautiful town that we are planning to visit again in the...

    Beautiful town that we are planning to visit again in the near future. We felt our weekend stay was too short. There is more to enjoy that just the gorge and waterfalls at the State Park (which in and of itself is a great experience). We stayed at Lakeside Resort which is top notch. Watkins Glen has several restaurants which are high quality. Even the cafe of the State Park served delicious sandwiches. Several vineyards are accessible from village. Corning is also close by and the Museum is worth a visit.

    A great town featuring a beautiful lake with nice parks and scenic areas alongside. The Smith Opera House is a great venue for a concert and the area has a number of nice restaurants, including one adjacent to the opera house. While we were there on a Sunday and many businesses were closed, there appears to be a number of interesting stores, shops and eateries to explore.

    What was really nice is the place has many wineries.. The bad news is it needs to update the days and hours that they are open. Watkins Glen was amazing. The town is very walkable. The surprise is the park itself, driving thru one would not know the natural beauty. Driving around was easy.

    Loved it!

    Loved it! Watkins Glen Gorge Trail was so beautifull, as were the other waterfalls in the area. We went on a sunset cruise and learned a lot about Seneca Lake, and enjoyed the comments of Dan, up on the top of the boat. Later, pizza back at the house was yummy. And the food was delicious but quite expensive at Capt. Bill’s restaurant on our 1st night there.

    Hector was very quiet when we were there probably because it was on Weekdays. Not many restaurants in Hector. We visited a distillery which we enjoyed and ate at the Scalehouse brewery. Pizza was good but it was very noisy.

    The location was beautiful.

    The location was beautiful. You have a waterfall in your back yard and you can hear it inside the apartment. It is very peaceful to sit on the deck. There are several steps that you have to walk up to get to the unit so if you have trouble walking it could be an issue.

    Everything was great.

    Everything was great. The yurt is very big and had all the facilities we needed. The temperature at night was ok with the fans, eventhough it was very hot outside and the location being 4 minutes walk from the private dock on the lake was perfect.

    Even in winter, the waterfalls and lake are beautiful.

    Even in winter, the waterfalls and lake are beautiful. Expect most of the main trails to be closed, so plan a few extra things to do. Walking around the town and shops, walk along the lake at state parks, visit Corning Museum of Glass, ski, tube or ride a mountain coaster are all within great distance!

    Wagner wineries had the best Reisling I have had in a long time. And we received a wonderful history lesson in grapes. Smoking Pete's has to be the best bbq we have ever had as well. So beautiful in that area.

    The whole area of himrod New York is entirely enchanting. From the wineries to the breweries to the distilleries to Watkins Glen State Park... To the lake itself to the boat tours to the fabulous restaurant... This is the perfect place to have a quiet relaxing vacation... If you are lucky enough to book a room at Savannah house and cottages... Decently priced beautiful landscaping Great view of Seneca lake... Barbecues and fire pit on property... Back deck with table and chairs.. the room was beautiful and very clean the air conditioning was exceptional and there is a ceiling fan right above the bed which was also great.. the shower and the water pressure perfect they supplied toiletries shampoo soap etc... This was our second time staying... And I would never stay anywhere else
