United KingdomThe location, the size of property. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They lent us sieves to search for shells and a boogie board for my children. Wish we could have stayed longer. They lost 15 buildings in the hurricane but they are still a fabulous place to stay.

I almost hesitated to give a review in the event too many people find this lovely spot, but the owners, staff, and spot deserve a beaming review. We loved the layout, care taken with decor and functionality of the unit, and the closeness to a private beach! The pool and deck was just outside the unit which was so nice. They also provide everything you need for the beach and many of the basic tools/toiletries needed in the kitchen and bathroom, which is ideal for anyone flying in like ourselves. We also loved the care taken by everyone there.. we felt very welcome, and that we could contact them anytime if needed. They've been working so hard to restore the inn after the hurricane this October, and we can confidently say they've done a fabulous job. We would love to return one day soon! As a result the whole hotel is new, with the decor and room fixtures & fittings being brand new. Rebecca at reception told us that we were the first to stay in our suite which was nice ! The swimming pool at the hotel is a great size and had an 8ft deep end and was lovely and warm. The rooms are comfortable, tastefully decorated with kitchen facilities and a great airy bathroom with excellent shower. There was ample sockets for charging throughout the room. The location is perfect for shops and groceries with a 7-Eleven next door and MudBugs, a great bar/restaurant and a pizza restaurant within easy walking distance.Guest review byGwynUnited Kingdom

The shelling was good on Sanibel, but better on a public...
The shelling was good on Sanibel, but better on a public beach near the tip of Captiva. I got better shells that were actually "whole". See pics below. We ate at Doc Ford's Restaurant & the food was excellent. Another night, we ate at Cajun Mudbugs. The food was so-so, seafood was overcooked & dry. Frankly, I'm a better Cajun cook. They had live entertainment. We were expecting Acadian/ Cajun music, but instead they had a single musician, who played popular & oldie music. He was a good guitarist, but his singing was off key & extremely loud. You couldn't hear yourself think, let alone have a nice conversation at the table.
