I received a magnificent welcome from the owner who is very attentive, concerned about the well-being of his customers and very generous. He is present all day from early morning to late evening, always there to help, I have rarely seen that in my previous trips. The room is very clean, everything for a perfect stay. Varied and delicious full breakfast :) with tea and Turkish coffee, the service is lovely. One evening, coming back from a beautiful day that I had treated myself to, I received a large slice of cake offered by the owner, and as luck would have it, right on my birthday, enough to end the day in style :) and make me more happy :) a huge thank to you! Lovely place to escape to when you want to get away from the madness of Istanbul. It has a lot of derelict but gorgeous buildings, a lot of history, beautiful mansions and buildings and is just a cute lil place to go for a walk or ride a bike. As a small island, it's possible to get around the whole place by bike in a couple of hours. There are a lot of beaches, but most of them require payment. A few days here after the intense Istanbul was a perfect choice. Boat trips to beaches were very welcome as it was hot and hilly, beaches had great facilities, we were the week preseason, which was very quiet, I imagine filling the 700 sun beds high season+music feels v busy. Adalar is a great place to unwind.
Adalar is a great place to unwind. Having said that, there are frequent boats into Istanbul (and other islands) if you want some more activity/sightseeing etc. Chilled experience - we ate in various places in town. I'd probably avoid those overlooking the sea ... places in the streets behind are less touristy, better value and generally provide a nicer experience. There are good buses, although we walked everywhere - and there are loads of places to hire bicycles.
