- From US$1,340.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,414 reviewsThis place is incredible. First of all, the staff is really caring and they take care of everything from moving your luggage to letting you know when the sun rises. The view from a wooden house is incredible - honestly, the best place to watch a sunrise in Thailand is Samet Nangshe and your own balcony. When we arrived, our fridge was full of everything you need throughout the day. The pool was nice and warm with a lovely view - nice for a late-night dip. The breakfast is incredible - I have never had as amazing breakfast as the eggs benedict and cinnamon french toast from Samet nangshe.Guest review bySiim PEstonia

Thank you to all the staff at Nova Samui and we wish you all the best for the future. Love Owen and JayneGuest review byOwenUnited Kingdom

There are lots of stalls for bargain hunters, heaps of food options and of course a variety of nightlife spots to keep you entertained. Choose your timing, if you want to avoid crowds then don't go in the evening. You can book all your tours at one of the many outlets. And you'll find the best exchange rates at the currency exchange booths. Be prepared for people to be constantly trying to get your attention for goods and services. I'd recommend doing at least one island tour, go to Old Phuket Town and treat the elephants to a delightful scrub.Guest review byLisaAustralia - 6.0

If you want the beach and trips from the beach to the islands do not recommend you go this time of the year. As three single travellers there were very few bars, lots of restaurants that sold alcohol but no bars you could sit at and have a chat only found four and three of those were a good 30min walk from the centre. Ao Nang seems to have changed a lot over the years and has lost a lot of it's character as it is now catering more for families, which is not a all bad if that is what you are looking for but comparing it with Hua Hin, or Koh Samui, it just doesn't.Guest review byDennisAustralia - 10.0

I love it here . Has everything and anything.
I love it here . Has everything and anything. For me I like the beach , the restaurants, the markets and am happy to do that all day at one of the beach front bungalows. But there is plenty of night life if you want it . A lively place, lovely locals, easy to go other places on the island with taxis . The beach is beautiful. Warm water . Food and drinks along the beach .lots to see and do in the town. So many restaurants to choose from . Capybara cafe is so funny had a great time there . The night markets are greatGuest review bydeniseNew Zealand - 10.0

I am considering retirement in HY and this first stay was a real help to decide. I really like HY. There is so much I haven't seen on this trip but I will return in a couple of months. BOLT is a great way to get around, average journey price 55 baht (april 2025) BOLT drivers are amazing, you can have a car turn up in 2 minutes and be on your way. The selection of food in HY is off the scale. I have not met one person who was unkind or rude. I have had a couple of bad experiences in cafes with cold food or slow service but nothing to put me off returning to this city.Guest review bymikeUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Sun (the manager) and his amazing team treat you like family instantly and you honestly feel that the hotel is your Thai home. My family and I will never forget the wonderful facilities, food and warm feeling we received from everybody at the Pacific Club. My sons wanted me to mention Ron and Joso who made their stay by always stopping for a chat. I could not recommend to a family a better hotel in Phuket. Each evening you can ask reception to organise a tuk tuk to take you to Karon main strip for a couple of pound and on a Tuesday and Friday there is a fantastic night market at the temple. Well worth checking out. The best places to eat (apart from thd lovely menu at the hotel) are the tiny restaurants down the side streets. The ones with 2 or 3 tables and plastic chairs where you can see the chef. We ate some of the best food of our lives for unbelievable prices. Leaving a tip in these places goes a long way!Guest review byhazelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you want late nights, loud music and a party life, don’t go to Kho Lak. If you want rest and relaxation, great food and no crowds this is the place. Pick your time of year and the town seems deserted.Guest review byDonAustralia - 6.0
