Cook IslandsNice greeting on arrival with a flower ei by Maheata. We were late arriving due to bird strike on our flight over. We had to return to Papeete, then changed aircraft. By the time we arrived, it was around 8pm & she was still waiting for us. Pool is wonderful, rooms clean, aircon & wifi is great, location easy to find & bonus being close to Borabora Yacht Club with nice tasty meals served there. We hired a car via Avis to get around & explore the island. We enjoyed our stay here.

South AfricaThe hotel is amazing. It's big, with many facilities. The views on the lagoon and the Otemanu mount are breath taking. The staff is so nice and caring. The bungalows on pilotis are insane, so comfy and private. We had free access to kayaks & paddles and we could swim in an artificial lagoon with corals and fishes, it's so beautiful. The breakfast is amazing and the spa (and massages) are great. They have programs to take care of the fauna and corals of the island.

The pickup from the harbor worked perfectly, and we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. We stayed in an apartment in the Villa Moana, which I can highly recommend to everyone. The apartment was beautifully equipped, spotlessly clean, and in a great location. It also featured a wonderful terrace with a stunning sea view. A particular highlight was the private dock with stairs that made it easy to enter the sea. Snorkeling here was a great experience—even though it might not seem so at first glance, there’s plenty to discover upon closer inspection. During our stay, I spotted octopuses, lionfish, stingrays, turtles, and even a nurse shark (don’t worry—they’re more scared of you than you are of them, and they quickly swim away if you encounter them). We stayed on the upper floor, and in the evening, when the lights from the lower floor illuminate the water, you can watch the sharks hunting. It was an incredible and exciting sight. The place is designed in the most beautiful way, with little details at every corner, with paintings, old vases and statues. The amount of relaxation you receive in this place is incredible. The host is very friendly and helpful, contributing to the best experience in terms of hospitality. You basically have your own private island and your own private beach with all the comfort of a high end hotel. While some people might be a little concerned with mosquitos, please note that a reasonable quality repeller will solve this for you. We tried the very best in Bora Bora, including the high end resorts with water bungalows. I can say that without our experience at Fare Ahuna, our trip to Bora Bora would have been so much less complete. Our top insect-proof villa was also individually designed: among other things, with an old typewriter from my hometown Chemnitz (on the other side of the world!). Nir likes to give tips, even before we arrived, and drives his guests to the supermarket or excursion in his military jeep. An extraordinary experience! Bora Bora is a slice of paradise. We rented a scooter for a day and saw the whole island. What was best was Rudolph at H2O was an amazing tour guide. Well worth the money. Our favourite place was on the lagoon. We hired a pontoon boat and spent a day on the water, one of the best experiences was snorkelling, swimming and relaxing. It was great. Lots of different fish, coral gardens and many sea life. Water was crystal clear and vibrantly blues and greens. Views were endless. Swam at Matira Beach. Wish I could go back there.
