- From £133.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 2,452 reviewsRating: ★★★★★ I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hidden gem, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I entered my room, I was captivated by the breathtaking view it offered. The panorama of The Remarkables mountain range and the tranquil lake was simply mesmerizing, creating a serene backdrop that set the tone for a perfect getaway. The room itself was a haven of comfort, with thoughtful amenities and a cozy ambiance. Clean, well-appointed, and strategically located, it made for a delightful retreat after a day of exploration. What stood out to me was the proximity of the pool – just a stone's throw away. This convenient placement added an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay, providing a refreshing escape and a perfect spot to unwind. The attentive staff members contributed significantly to the overall positive experience. Their warmth and willingness to assist made me feel truly welcomed, enhancing the sense of hospitality that permeates this establishment. Whether you're a nature enthusiast drawn to the allure of The Remarkables, a fan of peaceful lakeside vistas, or someone who appreciates a well-designed room with easy access to recreational facilities, this place ticks all the boxes. It's a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation, and I can't wait to return to indulge in the tranquility and beauty that define this remarkable retreat.Guest review byKathziePhilippines
- From £207.09 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,225 reviewsWe had breakfast included in our room rate so were lucky to try everything on the menu - it was delicious! We also had dinner there one night - the views, service and food were amazing. A big shout out to all the staff we interacted with - from the front desk to everyone whom served us breakfast/dinner and even the cleaners - everyone was so friendly and that is a big testament to what a fantastic hotel this is. It's a great location as there's a bus stop (only a 2min walk away) and the facilities (e.g. Kamana Soak) were utilised and enjoyed. I know I've mentioned it but one of the best things was definitely the views when eating at Nest - it takes your breath away each time you look outside. We really enjoyed our stay at Kamana - thank you.Guest review byNormaAustralia

The scenery was spectacular.
The scenery was spectacular. Amisfield winery and restaurant (5 star plus) was the trip highlight - it's 20 mins outside town - take an Uber so you can enjoy the wine(s). Queenstown itself is very small and walkable and has some nice eateries: the Patagonia icecream parlour on lake front was a treat (eat upstairs for the lake view). Best to book eateries in advance and excursions (though we we subject to "sorry overbooked" after a tour paid for!)Guest review byANTONYAustralia - 10.0
Vietnamese Restaurant was excellent and not expensive.
Vietnamese Restaurant was excellent and not expensive. Thai Orchid had lovely live music on Sunday evening and wonderful atmosphere and music. Many restaurants close by. Hagley Park was within walking distance and had an amazing light show, Illuminate.Guest review byMichaelNew Zealand - 10.0

A city with scenic landscapes and harbour views seen from everywhere. Charming villas hug hillside suburbs with many quaint communities to discover. Easy walking around the city centre or alternatively drive around the coastal roads and suburbs to visit surf beaches pounding one side of the peninsula in contrast to the calm blue of the Otago harbour. Lots to see for bird & wildlife enthusiasts, eclectic shopping and architectural delights including Larnach castle’s interesting historical story.Guest review byGwenAustralia - 10.0
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools.
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.Guest review byHeatherAustralia - 10.0
Wanaka is a great little town.
Wanaka is a great little town. Primarily a stepping stone to the ski resorts. However we did not go the the resorts. We did do a day trip to Blue Pools and the nearby waterfalls (Thunder falls). the drive was scenic and the pools were well worth having a look at. Thunderfalls is certainly a photo spot as well. We circled back to wanaka and had a look at the Wanaka tree. Its a great picture just prior to sunset as the branches of the tree have and orangy color to them.Guest review byStevoAustralia - 10.0

Te Anau is a beautiful town, set on the shores of a lake, with close access to Milford and Doubtful Sounds. The main shopping centre offers lots of different restaurants and take away options. There is also a big supermarket for supplies. There is a lovely gift shop in Te Anau, as well.9Guest review byNarelle PattersonAustralia - 8.0

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.Guest review byWaldoNew Zealand - 10.0
Scenic, lots to do and locals are friendly.
Scenic, lots to do and locals are friendly. Really easy to get around the town centre on foot, everything is close together. Recommend stopping at some cellar doors in Waipara on the way through if you are coming from Christchurch. We hiked, went quad biking with Hanmer Springs Attractions, visited the Hanmer Springs Pools, dined out and shopped at various locations.. We even hired a Rocket bike to do a lap of town and get our bearings. We drove up the Hanmer Springs Ski Area but unfortunately, lack of snow and windy weather prevented us having a day of snow sports. Charming townGuest review byHannahNew Zealand - 8.0

Not much to do in Oamaru, will recommend visiting the quaint museums, Oamaru heritage museum (pay/donate as you wish) and steampunk museum (NZD$15/pax). both were interactive and we enjoyed it with the helpful stuff. the day was a cloudy and rainy so we opted out of visiting the penguins - they have a live youtube stream of the penguins coming home which we watch. We did visit the penguins tour during the day, which was open to public and saw some fur seals relaxing. To watch the penguins coming home, it's NZD$45 per pax, which we thought was a little expensive. + the weather being bad, we decided to watch them online instead.Guest review byVerenaSingapore
