- From £807.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 152 reviewsA very pleasant surprise. The villas are wonderful and very smart located inside the resort. Because everything was renovated a couple of years ago it all looks great. The restaurants, lobby area and the bar are very nice and provide a very relaxing atmosphere. The food is good, except for fruits and vegetables which are not very tasty (all import). The beach experience is great, with a very beautiful water and sandy beach with sunbeds located 10-15 m apart. The staff is more friendly than in other hotels on the island (mauritius people are not very friendly by default). Oliver was a great host on the beach and Minta a great concierge during our stay. The overall experience is great, the hotel provides you 2 times cleaning per day, complimentary treats on the beach and in the room and a very diverse mini bar. It is a hotel in which we can return anytime with great pleasure.Guest review byVictor MihailescuRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 772 reviewsLoved the clean place. The palm trees. There are many things to do at resort. Boat trips, dolphin swimming, minigolf, sups and kayaks and so much more. Also the place offers FREE green fees on Tamarina Golf course and Ile aux cerfs. This is crazy deal you get. Food is delicious, on friday there was a lot of mauritian food for dinner which is great and tasty. Lets be honest the resort is not the cheapest but I think it delivers the most for its price. I would also like to thank the staff working at cocktail bar on beach. (two guys especially who made us super good cocktails for 3 nights in row, they are amazing!!!!). Thank you also for unforgetable diving expirience. Thank you for delicious fried eggs every morning. And thanks to staff welcoming us, helping us on every step and keeping us welcomed.Guest review byTomažSlovenia
- From £494.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 615 reviewsI don’t think there is any view that could beat this one. I had to pinch myself from time to time to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming. Aside from that, the cabins were beautifully designed and decorated, the bed was very comfortable. The service staff was friendly and attentive. I really liked the furniture of the dining area. If you seek to relax and unwind I guess there’s no better place in Mauritius. For exploring the island I don’t think it would be the best base, since it’s taking a while to get up there. Therefore it’s really close to the seven earth, the waterfall and the Chamarel national park itself, since the chalets are basically inside the park. Altogether we enjoyed our stay to the fullest.Guest review byKatrinSwitzerland
- From £397.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,551 reviewsThe LUX* hotel left a remarkable first impression with their warm welcome. The room was superb, providing both comfort and elegance. The food options were exceptional and diverse, accompanied by kind and attentive service. The beach strip was spacious and sprawling, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the picturesque views. It was a relief to have reliable WiFi access throughout the property, making it easy to stay connected. It's clear that LUX* hotel is one of the top hotels in Mauritius. In addition, Garish from the nurse's room provided exceptional service when we were in need, even saving our vacation. Overall, our stay at the LUX* hotel was truly outstanding.Guest review byAmirIsrael
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,165 reviewsBeautiful beach, just for the hotel ( its very small, so the beach does not get crowded) enough sun beds and umbrellas, supermarket in walking distance. dinner was simple but okay. We prefered to cook ( we had a room with kitchen, which we wanted and loved) the hotel is very very nice, not for people who enjoy resort life - this is for relaxing a few days... great view of the Morne mountain from the beach, amazing sunsets, good coctails at the beach, dinner was 1250 per person, simple buffet, but nice. They had trips and activities but we didn't try them.Guest review bykláraCzech Republic
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 671 reviewsExcellent hotel. The food, the setting and the comfort all five stars. The highlight is the nautical activities included - they offer really a lot of things for the guests to try and are very friendly and accommodating. The water is the dream blue and the space is amazing. The golf club has exquisite terrain as well. We can’t wait to come back.Guest review byViktoriaLuxembourg

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 8.0

Great first time visit to the Island. Beautiful beaches with a multitude of activities for all ages. Christmas Day boat trip to Ile Aux Benitiers, which included a tasty braai (barbeque) swimming with dolphins and snorkeling around Crystal RockGuest review byRusselSouth Africa - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly - 10.0

lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony ForestGuest review byCelia ColemanSouth Africa
