The hotel is modern and fairly reflects Western standards. The room is very spacious with a large bathroom. The staff is extremely kind and always smiling; they helped me book the bus to Bagan and arranged for an excellent local guide to explore Yangon. The hotel's location is good; within walking distance, there's also a shopping center with a large supermarket in case you need to do some shopping. The hotel restaurant, located on a beautiful rooftop terrace, offers a good selection of dishes at reasonable prices. I will definitely book this hotel again for my last few days in Myanmar before my flight back to Italy.

We had a wonderful time at this Hotel! It’s definitely a 5 Star Hotel at European standards. Breakfast and dinner were just amazing. Staff was super nice and we met some of the friendliest people ever in a Hotel. Words really cant describe how much we enjoyed staying at the Pan Pacific. If you are in Yangon for business or leisure you need to stay here! We would go back in a heartbeat!

I had an exceptional stay at Mercure Hotel in Yangon! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a warm smile. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Every meal was a delight, with fresh ingredients and excellent presentation. The service at the reception was outstanding, efficient, and professional, making check-in and check-out seamless. We stayed at the hotel for two weeks in February 2025. The hotel is very conveniently located (5-7 minutes by taxi from the Shwedagon Pagoda, Sule Pagoda, and the zoo). The hotel is not new, which is especially noticeable in the bathroom (the walls need painting) and in the smell in the room, but we got used to it. The shower pressure is very good, there is hot water. The rooms are quite large. The furniture in the room is of good quality (a large wardrobe, 2 beds, a bedside table for TV, bedside tables. There is no kettle, but hot water and everything you need for a comfortable stay are brought upon request. I would like to note the very attentive, very friendly hotel staff! They made our holiday in Yangon unforgettable!

    This is really a lovely hotel especially if you need to be close to the airport for and early departure. Front office staff fantastic and super helpful . Free airport shuttle driver truly great and vant help enough . Will stay here everytime now when i need to be in Yangon .     Personally, I really enjoy being in Yangon because I have local friends. Usually, it is more of a jumping point for other places around the country. But while the city is generally safe, I would not venture upcountry where it could be dangerous. Three days in Yangon would be plenty to see the sites in the city.

    If you approach the Burmese people with dignity and respect, it will be returned in kind. Everywhere - not just in the hotel - the Burmese people are honest, earnest and caring. Sometimes people make a destination, and the people at Park Royal were fantastic. Enthused, interested and interesting. The Park Royal is a real gem, and the people are real winners.

    Did you know Melia hotel staff was asking me 5USD for the key card accidently lost. I told him I was not willing to pay so he checked with his manager (I could mention his name here). His manager said to me that is Melia hotel policy! WOW! I work in oil & gas industry, travel everywhere Asia America Africa Europe Australia. This is the first time the hotel staff tried to rip off. But I didn't pay, I was 100% i left my key in my room, so get a new key went up grab my key in the hotel and came back straightaway. Handed 5USD key card back to the hotel staff. After a couple of days I met the manager again and confirm "that is what Melia hotel.management is implementing ". So twp things 1 stay away from the Melia OR 2 keep your key card safe I will do the first one because I always misplace my key card. It is up to you. Hla Shwe (George) Australia
