Kandalama is a well known location and outstanding nature escape. This was my special location in my bucket list since quite long. I’v got nice location exactly on booking.com site with jacuzzi but its barely working, probably they need to keep eye on that even though it was such a nice place filled with nice food. I was was there with my wife and we had a excellent stay at Kandalama. looking to stay again when we come back to Sri lanka.

Brand new hotel, really clean, great sized room, comfy bed, lovely food and amazing staff. Bernard was an amazing host, helping us with tours to lions rock, dinner and transport to our next location. He went over and above every time he interacted with us. The other boys that worked there were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay here again and again!

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights and we loved the room, it was really comfortable and clean! The hosts are lovely, always with a friendly attitude with a smile on their faces! On our last night they woke up at 4am to make a tea for us because we wanted to watch the sunrise at pidurangala rock and we are really grateful for their kindness!     The resort is put together beautifully. peaceful and perfectly blended with the natural surroundings. Our water dwelling was just stunning. The attention to detail and the room layout are awesome. The service was outstanding. A special thank you to Ravindra and Amila, who looked after us throughout our stay. It’s great to have a personal butler, but what made the experience really special was how genuinely they cared about making us feel at home. The guided tour of Sigiriya Rock and the elephant safari are well-organized, and the naturalists who joined us were knowledgeable and making the trips more than worthwhile. If you’re planning to do these kinds of trips, definitely go with a guide. The food was another highlight with attention to local dishes as well as international cuisine.

    I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Sigiriya. The view from the property is stunning—especially the pool view with the Sigiriya Rock in the backdrop! The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. What makes this place magical is its jungle setting—you can hear the sounds of nature all around, making it incredibly peaceful and calming. It was my birthday, and the hotel surprised me with a beautiful birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The staff were so warm and accommodating throughout our stay. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and both meals were absolutely gorgeous. I’d definitely stay here again.

    Always dreamed of living in nature and this Resort let me experience this in a safe luxury environment. The staff were very concerned and helped me with the best ways around the area which made me feel very safe as I knew they were just a call away if I got lost. The chef at this hotel got me hooked onto Sri Lankan food at his cooking class. He explained Sri Lankan food so well I still keep in touch with him sharing pictures of my attempts :P Had the best Sri Lankan massage at the most zen spa. Thank you for making my 2 days feel like a whole chapter of experiences.

    This was our 4th visit to Wild Grass and once more it didn't disappoint. Loved everything! Wild Grass is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The villas are very modern but sympathetic to the surroundings and so spacious. AC was very efficient. And the bathroom!!! Loved it, especially the outdoor shower. Since our last visit some of the villas now have pools overlooking the lake. I'm so glad we decided to go with one of these rooms. The staff and Mr Nimal all went out of their way to be helpful.

    There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.

    There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.

    We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

    A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

    A nice hike to view a breathe taking view. If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.

    Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.

    Mainly there are 10-12 attractions in Matale. As I just stayed one day which was not sufficient to visit all the places. Among them where I went were also hampered due to the rain at time to time. Generally Matele was quit good tourist destination if it is planned well with couple of days.

    Sigiriya is stunning and has a lovely village charm to it, compared to the tourist/backpacker mecca that is Ella. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from but it somehow doesn't detract and Sigiriya still feels very local and true to SL values.
