- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,205 reviewsEverything! Bed was comfortable, hairdryer was great, the staff refilling the fridge with water bottles was a huge plus and the view was great also! The lighting system was very good too, as it could be operated from the comfort of my bed. Shower was also in perfect condition! The staff were very nice to me too and would definitely have contacted me (probably via Booking.com as I forgot to give them my Japanese number once I got the SIM working) had I left my angels, my St. Joseph and San Cristobal cards underneath my pillow on the day I left! Buffet restaurant was absolutely perfect too. Great variety of food to choose from. Definitely recommended to anyone who is looking to stay in Saitama for a while.Guest review byLukeIreland
- From US$115.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 386 reviewsA stunning location, beautiful cabin and a pleasant stay overall! We've been well looked after throughout, and enjoyed the outdoors while still having the comfort of the cabin when the cold became too much. We used our small stove indoors whenever we wanted to warm up soup or make tea. Also we had a wood fire outside and we fully enjoyed the cool weather BBQ. Will definitely go there again!Guest review byNoricaJapan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 440 reviewsHotel is conveniently located at a mall with a sizable supermarket and connected to a train station. A short walk away from the famous shops of Kawagoe. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. If you're driving here, Google Maps will direct you to the rooftop carpark - head to the top level and the entrance leading to the hotel will be there.Guest review byGeorgeSingapore

Nice quiet suburb of Tokyo that isn't overpriced or infested with tourists, but also still has easy, reasonably direct access to Tokyo city center. Only downside is there's not too much in terms of nature or views, but overall still have a nice relaxing vibe.Guest review byLittleBlueStarJapan - 6.0

After seeing many castles, shrines and temples in other parts of Japan, the Kawagoe versions were nice, but not that spectacular. Candy Lane was quite unique with narrow streets, old building architecture, but the shop offerings were generally pitched at the tourist rather than celebrating the originality of the district and its genuine traditions passed from older Edo times. We stayed three days - but on day 3 we took a short train ride to Omiya station and the short shuttle service to the Saitama Railway Museum for a day very well spent. Highly recommended for families with young children with many suitable activities and mini-train rides. Take care with the shuttle ticketing - it is easy to buy an expensive "day pass" ticket that does not work in the gate, when there are cheaper tickets for the same ride that do.Guest review byDavidAustralia - 10.0

Japan has a tendency to go above and beyond expectations and this city is no exception. Lots of things to see and do for every budget level. Don't forget to pack a good attitude and a bit of patience because everyone is coming back to Japan because the missed visiting because of the pandemic.Guest review byChristian - 10.0

This is a great place to visit if you are a bit adventurist and want to experience life in Japan away from Tokyo and other typical tourist locations. Just brush up on your basic Japanese language as English is not spoken in most places. But, if you travel there by the local trains from Narita all train stops are given in Japanese and English. Also, many establishments do not accept credit cards so be sure to carry some Yen with you!Guest review byLAWRENCEUnited States - 8.0

The Seibu express train to Chichibu is quite a nice way to get there. It is a narrow valley so I recommend renting a car; not sure how easily chichibu works by bus. Some interesting shrines and templesGuest review byGeoffreyJapan - 6.0
We stayed in Wako only as a stepping stone to visit Kawagoe.
We stayed in Wako only as a stepping stone to visit Kawagoe. This city is where the very old Japanese structures still remain. The streets are lined with restaurants and small shops and filled with tourists. A lot of the tourists were wandering about in Japanese kimonos which are available for rent at many rental places.Guest review byCecileUnited States - 8.0

Candy Street and the old town closes about 5pm. So if you plan to visit the old town, go early. Tashio Roman Street which is the adjacent street after the old town is a much livelier shopping and food street which opens till late.Guest review byEdmundSingapore - 6.0

I think if you want to also explore the area around Chichibu you should stay for two nights. We only stayed for one and we just got to explore the town a bit (although not so much to see) and then we went to Nagatoro, which we could have spent a bit more time. But I have heard that hiking and just going around the mountainous area around is very beautiful.Guest review byKatrin BjorgIceland - 10.0

I stayed four nights in Kawagoe due to family working and living there. With that said, I am glad I did so because it is a nice town with lots of things to see and do. I am a walker and runner and getting around town was safe both night and day. There is shopping and great restaurants. Old Kawagoe is about a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel and well worth spending at least an entire day there. The hotel is located at the Kawagoe Train Station with nearly continuous trains back and forth to Tokyo (about 45 to 60 minutes each way).Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0

The house is very beautiful also the rooms are wonderful and traditional Japanese. The view from the room is amazing! You can easily hike and take the bus back to the appartment. There is a road next to the building but very few cars are driving at night so it is not too loud.Guest review byValerianAustria
