Insomnia KYOTO was truly one of the highlights of our short trip to Kyoto! Very helpful and friendly staff, eager to answer to all of our questions about sightseeing, place to eat, etc. The room was comfortable, clean, with lots of amenities. A huge plus was the all day buffet with snacks and drinks in case you wanted to hang out at the hotel. I totally recommend Insomnia for staying in Kyoto!

The property was clean and tastefully furnished, and located within a cute local housing area (but still convenient enough to travel to the key attractions). Service was also great with friendly and helpful staff. To top it off, the property houses a great Thai restaurant which serves a good variety of authentic Thai lunch/dinner options. Special mention that the restaurant was kind enough to help me modify their food to cater to my vegetarian/meat-free preference.

Breakfast was more than adequate & very nice. Good choices between continental & Japanese breakfast. In addition, we were offered eggs, salmon and or meat choices. The breakfast room was nicely decorated & bright to make a cheerful start to our day. All the staff were very hospitable & helpful, especially Sayuri - who spoke very good English. My family's special thanks to her! The entire property, without exception, was spotlessly clean & pleasant smelling. Above all, I must say that Mr. Kosei Kawasaki, the Duty Manager on that rainy morning did everything in his power to get us a big cab for the station and personally helped load the cab with our 6 pieces of luggage in the heavy rain. My special thanks to Mr. Kosei Kawasaki

The facilities were simply amazing 💯.Clean, new, and came with so many amenities. The pillows were very fluffy. The best hotel we had so far during our trip in Japan. The staffs were so friendly. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Japan for the very first time, and I must say that my experience exceeded all expectations, thanks in large part to the incredible hospitality and humbleness I encountered at the hotels I stayed in. From the moment I stepped foot in Japan, I was captivated by the warm welcome and genuine kindness extended by the people, and this sentiment was mirrored by the exceptional service I received at the hotels. I want to specifically call out one of your staff member who despite her shift log out she noticed me looking for me to locate the hotel and escorted me to the hotel reception. That was way too exceptional. Kudos ! Every corner of the rooms and common areas reflected a meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the Japanese commitment to cleanliness and orderliness. I found this aspect of my stay particularly refreshing and it further enhanced my overall experience. The staff's friendly attitude truly made me feel at home during my stay. Each encounter with the hotel staff was marked by their genuine warmth and eagerness to assist. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions, answering my inquiries, or simply engaging in friendly conversation, their kind demeanour made a lasting impression. Their unwavering commitment to ensuring my comfort and satisfaction was truly commendable and added an extra layer of enjoyment to my trip. Beyond the exceptional service, it was the humbleness of the hotel staff that truly struck a chord with me. Despite their professionalism and dedication, they remained humble and approachable. There was never a sense of superiority or distance, but rather a genuine desire to connect and provide an authentic experience. Overall, my first visit to Japan was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to the humble and hospitable nature of the staff

The room was as advertised, and it have facilities like any other travel hotel around the city. However, it was the fact that there is a vinyl player in each room that really made me book this hotel, and I was so glad I did! I love that the vinyl player was in working condition and you are able to rent it at the counter, 2 at a time. I was able to send my luggage to the hotel beforehand and the receptionist bought it up to my room when I had arrived earlier during my check in. Love the vibe of the small hotel and that it is relatively close to the station as well (at the exit with a lift, which is a plus point). You get a scoop of ice cream and free beer (after 5pm) per day of your stay. Would definitely come back again if I am back in Kyoto!

Everything was perfect – the cleanliness, the staff who were always available, and the convenient luggage delivery service at reasonable prices (even to Osaka or Tokyo). The hotel provides everything you might need, including personal care items such as toothbrushes and face products. It is spotless – they follow a clear cleaning schedule, and a team of 2–4 staff members arrives exactly on time to clean the rooms. Everything was absolutely perfect! The location is also excellent, very close to the train station.

Wow. This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were huge, bright and very well stocked. The washer/dryer in the room was a godsend for us as a family with a baby and the bathroom was luxurious with a freestanding bathtub. The staff are very welcoming and downstairs there is a cafe and salad bar all with fresh colourful ingredients. This hotel was 1/3 the price of the more popular family suites chain in Japan but it was every bit as good if not better

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean! The only confusion was that the description on Booking.com states that breakfast is available, it doesn’t say that you pay extra for it. I also paid for towels. If I understand correctly the coat is then deducted from the room fee but it really wasn’t clear.

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

Getting around the city is easy, whether on foot, by bus, or by metro. Cultural and historical richness is almost everywhere you look. The city is modern, yet its atmosphere remains calm and serene. With countless gardens and parks, it offers peaceful spaces to relax and connect with nature. Summer may not be the most colorful time of the year in Japan, but it comes with a welcome perk: fewer tourists!
