Rich Legacy and Natural Beauty
One of the richest archaeological regions in Italy, Puglia has received the influx from Greeks, Romans, Goths, Lombards, Byzantines, Normans and Spanish, amongst others. Together with an unusual and amazing landscape, Puglia is an Italian must!
With lower mountains than the rest of the country, it mixes fertile tablelands with dry landscape, rocky plateaus, and green hills. Kissed by the Adriatic and Ionian seas, its crystalline waters, rocky inlets and small sandy coves, well deserves a stay in some of the Puglia hotels on the beach.
Don’t miss the beautiful promontory of Gargano, nor Lecce’s stunning Baroque historic centre. Alberobello’s ‘trulli’ stone houses are a picturesque must. Being Apulia’s capital, Bari offers a number of cultural offer highlights as well as a lively nightlife, also famous in the summer resort of Gallipoli.
Its food is probably one of the best kept Italian secrets. The spaghetti with sea urchins is a typical delicious dish, while the ‘burrata’ cheese melts in your mouth with its creamy centre. You should also try the black olives, the ‘orecchiette’ pasta, and the amazing wines!

We have been to Bari several times.
We have been to Bari several times. It is a great city - the old town is beautiful with its small streets and it is amazing to walk around there. The fresh fruit shops are great and the most wonderful - in terms of food - is Santa Rita - for the best focacchia in Italy! St. Nicholas Basilica is wonderful and peaceful and also a stroll along the seaside is fantastic with a sun setting on the day. We have made some local friends and went for a drink - wonderful people! The image from the past, that Bari is a dirty and even dangerous city (like Naples) is no longer true. We highly recommend the city.Guest review byKoenNetherlands - 10.0

a very picture of city full of beautiful baroque churches, and Roman ruins, and off the beaten path is the archaeological museum, founded by the patriarch of a family, who was literally trying to fix his sewer and found a complete other world beneath his home, dating back to the middle ages and beyond Including once having been a convent Quite easy access on the train This seems to be an area that is little visited by Americans Great food lots of options beautiful places to stay and you can do lots of side tripsGuest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Monopoli was great city to stay in; small enough to have character and large enough to cater to all our needs. A perfect blend of tourism and every day experiences. Definitely one of our favourite spots in Italy so far. A highlight was dinner at a superb restaurant called My Wine right in the centre of the old town. We found some hospitality staff in restaurants and retail to be quite rude compared to other towns in Puglia but the service and food at My Wine was a huge standout!Guest review byDebbieAustralia - 8.0
Gallipoli Town is charming and full of character.
Gallipoli Town is charming and full of character. The historic center is lovely to explore on foot, with narrow streets, vibrant markets, and beautiful architecture. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants serving fresh seafood, and the views of the sea are stunning. The town has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, making it perfect for sightseeing and enjoying local culture. Definitely worth a visit!Guest review byAbhilash 80Switzerland - 10.0

Ostuni is a beautiful city located near so many other unique neighboring cities. The people were wonderful, helpful, and so many go above and beyond to understand your needs or questions. While staying in Ostuni, there was a really nice celebration for the city's patron saint, Saint Oronzo, that they had a parade for, and fun parties in the historic city center.Guest review bySilviaUnited States - 10.0

Vieste is really interesting and pretty old town and the people are friendly. Good standard of restaurants and not overpriced. There's a port where we hired a boat or you can get a boat trip. Some parts are very steep but worth walking up for the views. We stayed on the beach, a 25 min walk in along the beach but worth it or there's a bus for 2 euros p.p Would definitely recommend it :)Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nice little town, youthful. Lively in the evening.
Nice little town, youthful. Lively in the evening. Is not far from Bari airport, you can use also the train. There are many places for eating with good recomandations. People in general goes to the sea in the morning and some until late afternoon. You can visit old town, other beaches near. You can visit also Alberobello and Matera, this are also not far.Guest review byLaurentiu1Romania - 10.0
Alberobello is a beautiful town but gets super busy.
Alberobello is a beautiful town but gets super busy. If possible visit early morning, or late evening to miss the crowds. The night view is as wonderful as day time with the Trullis lit up. Plenty of parking - either on the roadside approaching the town, or in the shared car parks. Lots of places to eat - all reasonably priced and comparable for the areaGuest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt.
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt. It has a wonderfully tiled big square along the harbor with lots of restaurants. The town's white washed houses are delightful. It has a nice cathedral with a huge, beautifully restord mosaic along the floor of the cathedral. Visiting the historic castello is advisable. Walking the small pretty streets with its shops, cafes is very pleasant.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in restaurants if you prefer. Beaches were very clean, and locals very helpful. Prices were very reasonable too, with local shops providing local produce. For a real treat, try Cosimino Restaurant on Via Cosimo Albano; you can book a table overlooking the sea - its great food, and a fabulous atmosphere. It was not a noisy resort, in fact, we thought it was quiet, however, on weekends there was live music after dark. If you are planning a stay, Porto Cesareo is the perfect place to unwind and capture some Italian sunshine.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom
