FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre
Cliff-Hugging Beauty
One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.
Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.
The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.
Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.
The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,175 reviewsThis was a very pleasant surprise. I booked Villa Adriana on short notice and I realize I got super lucky as I can now see why this place has a high demand. Perfect location a stone's throw away from the beach and right before the road becomes steep, so quite comfortable to walk. They have parking which was a blessing. Loved the vibe of the place, the building, a neat garden, nature around, a very nice and welcoming staff at the front desk and the restaurant. Simple and comfortable rooms, modern bathrooms, a balcony to relax after hiking... or to hang your gear to dry :D Overall, great base for hiking Cinque Terre, a short walk from the Monterosso train station and a bit longer to the center of town, yet, a very pleasant stroll along the coast. Very friendly staff, a hearty breakfast with a lot of options (for Europe) and dinners that are great value for money in such a touristy area. I hope I can come back soon.Guest review bySergio IgnacioFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 92 reviewsExcellent property, very close to the beach as well as the Monterosso train station. Checking-in was a breeze as the keys were ready for us before we arrived. We were also able to get an early check-in by about an hour. Monterosso is also fairly flat meaning it was an easy walk to the property even with luggage. The room is beautiful and cute with a small garden attached. We had our own entryway so it had good privacy. The room is slightly bigger than a queen bed, fits a queen bed nicely and has a table and chairs set. Very well appointed room. The garden also had an outdoor seating area, and we had our breakfast there (our own food). Highly recommend this property as it's good and at a good location.Guest review bycest_la_vieUnited States
- From £173.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 370 reviewsI liked everything! The location, the beach, the bungalow has an awesome view. The staff is very helpful and attentive to one needs. They also are nice and very energetic. You can also access the premises by a 20 Minutes walk along the beach to go to the city for a drink or for a “Gelato”but please do not walk the tunel, it is only for cars. They also rent “Vespas” Kayaks and SUPs so if you like adventure this is the right place for you. They also have a restaurant and a small store if you don’t want to leave the complex. Book in advance since everyone love this place!Guest review byUlrichGermany
- From £234.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,062 reviewsPerfect location for visiting the Cinque Terre and enjoying a beach swim at the end of the day. Close to train station, in front of beaches. It was perfection. The staff were amazing and helpful, the breakfast was excellent. The air conditioning was a welcome addition. We arrived by car and for a smallish daily fee, you can reserve a spot, leave your car safely tucked away and explore by train, boat and on foot. I would 100% recommend this place.Guest review byPetrinaFrance

- From £125.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 260 reviewsThe breakfast was amaizing, the staff even did our laundry for free and gave us ice cream from the bar/shop. Staff was really nice and extra accomodating. Hard to get to from the train station on foot if you miss the bus. Runs rarely, so we’d sometimes have to walk back up the mountain for an hour to get to the hotel but the scenery was beautiful so we didnt mind.Guest review byViktorijaFinland

La Spezia is a great town-lots of great shops, restaurants and bars for aperitivo. Very walkable and people very friendly. Perfect jumping point for access to Cinque Terre. We found it a perfect balance using Cinque Terre card and taking train in daily. More affordable and more active later in the evening so ideal for our trip.Guest review byKossis - 10.0

The sea is spectacular and the water is so refreshing. We loved the pebble Beach in the New Town where there was a free section so we could enjoy a swim after our hike or bike ride. There are so many great restaurants in the old town. Though we liked the ( Miky)Bistro on the waterfront.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 8.0
Good place to stay if you wanna travel to Cinque Terre.
Good place to stay if you wanna travel to Cinque Terre. Cheaper and less crowded than Cinque Terre, but just 20 mins by train to go to Monterosso, or hiking from Levanto to Monterosa is also the good way, and you don’t need to pay for that trail. The trail is not easy (10km) but doable and not as crowded as others trails in Cinque Terre.Guest review byTuFinland - 10.0
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion.
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your listGuest review byCaroline - 10.0

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot. We swam, had dinner nightly, met the locals in the wine bar just above the church and visited 2 other towns. Our hotel room was at the very top of the town, and then up 3 flights of stairs. It was a very steep hill. Be sure you know where your hotel is, it's a very vertical town.Guest review byBretUnited States - 10.0
