FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre
Cliff-Hugging Beauty
One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.
Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.
The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.
Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.
The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,639 reviewsI had the pleasure of staying at Baia Hotel in Monterosso, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, the cleanliness of the hotel was immediately noticeable. Every corner of the hotel, from the rooms to the common areas, was impeccably maintained. The fresh, inviting smell throughout the hotel added an extra layer of comfort, making the entire experience even more pleasant. But what truly stood out during my stay was the private beach experience. The hotel provides access to a beautiful, well-kept beach and the presence of lifeguards made me feel incredibly safe and at ease. I was particularly impressed to see that the lifeguards were not only attentive to the guests on the private beach but were also helping people on the public beach nearby ( For example, I saw them assisting people who had been bitten by jellyfish, lost items ...)Guest review bydman2Romania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 261 reviewsThe location was beautiful and the breakfast included the best coffee on our holiday, made by a wonderful barista! It was lovely to sit under the shade of trees and be served delicious croissants, fruit juice and fresh fruit. A nice surprise was the blues music playing in the bar/café, the helpful and friendly owners being huge fans! Also we were very happy to find the fish restaurant in the basement served fabulous food and the service was very friendly and efficient. It’s a place we would love to revisit!Guest review byJeffreyUnited Kingdom

The staff is very attentive, the pool is large and well-maintained, and the dinners along with the drink menu are truly impressive. There’s no need to look for restaurants nearby — just book a table in advance, and you’re guaranteed a top-level experience. Rooms facing the marina and the port offer a stunning view, and the street itself is quiet and peaceful.Guest review byDezhurnijLatvia

Pebbles on the beach, maybe bring beach shoes. Garage parking excellent without which we would have needed to walk up to 1km, cost seemed fair. Range of restaurants within 10minutes and 20minutes. Room spartan, however very functional. Thank you we loved our stay.Guest review byCarolynNew Zealand

La Spezia is a great town-lots of great shops, restaurants and bars for aperitivo. Very walkable and people very friendly. Perfect jumping point for access to Cinque Terre. We found it a perfect balance using Cinque Terre card and taking train in daily. More affordable and more active later in the evening so ideal for our trip.Guest review byKossis - 10.0

Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe. Nice walking paths and many restaurants and shops to see. Even though it is a beach town, you don't see many children. It's more of a romantic adult getaway spot. Restaurants are small and most seating is on the patio. Many cannot accommodate strollers or parties greater than 4.Guest review byTerryUnited States - 10.0

I really enjoyed the beach at levanto and the night life was exciting, every evening the had organised some kind of a event . The most exciting part was the bicycle ride along the galerie levanto- bonassola. Also the punta della madonna ( chiesetta madonnino della punta ) was reachable with a cycle. Anyone should walk along ( hike) through the sentiero levanto- monterosso.Guest review byRashen IsurangaItaly - 10.0
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion.
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your listGuest review byCaroline - 10.0

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot. We swam, had dinner nightly, met the locals in the wine bar just above the church and visited 2 other towns. Our hotel room was at the very top of the town, and then up 3 flights of stairs. It was a very steep hill. Be sure you know where your hotel is, it's a very vertical town.Guest review byBretUnited States - 10.0
