Just 5 minutes off the autostrada A5 at Saint Vincent it’s set in the mountains next to a beautiful fast flowing river which sings you to sleep! Although we booked the cheapest room with the pullout bed we slept the best of any of the hotels on our 10 day trip from the UK to Italy! Make sure you book the restaurant too! The wild boar ragu dish is to die for! The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Hugo greeted us in the car park and escorted us and showed us around the property and room. We grabbed a last-minute deal, which was really convenient considering all the services included (dinner and breakfast included, 30 min spa, lift to the resort, discount with the rental shop), I don't know if I would have booked it at "full price". Such a beautiful town!
Such a beautiful town! I felt like I had a much better spot than the other little towns nearby just because of the ease of access to the Matterhorn hiking area. I just walked out my door and it was right there, no driving necessary. I loved Valtournenche!
I loved Valtournenche! This is a small to medium village in the mountains. Lovely atmosphere when walking through the village. Tourist Information Centre for the village and surrounding area available. Plenty of restaurants /cafes to choose from and even a cheese factory! It is a cute little ski resort best for the family with small children or beginner skier. There were less people on weekdays so we did not wait for a lift at all. Driving 30-40mins you can get to the Cervino ski paradise. You will find the hotel much cheaper in Torgnon. Nice little village with lovely people and a couple of nice places to eat in the day and early evening. The shop was open most of the week and had a good range even though it was small. There was plenty of parking in the carpark for our car (and a great price for the week) at the bottom of the cable car which ran every half an hour from 7:30am to 10:30pm. Good value tickets for the two of us for 10 rides each which is all we needed for our week's holiday. The walks from Chamois were really lovely although quite hard going up and down the mountains which were quite steep but worth the views from the top. In season you can get a chair lift but we liked the challenge!! One week was plenty for us, we had a fab time and glad it wasn't too hot for our walks.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Wonderful skiing holiday.
Wonderful skiing holiday. If you haven’t a car then there is a timetable for shuttle buses to take you you to the lifts and the town. They are a public service so have a set route and designated stops. There is Only one supermarket ( in the town). Whilst ample for us it has limited supplies and shuts between 12.30 and 15.30, however fine for us on a limited budget. We ate out on 3 occasions and would say costs are cheaper than the Uk do not overly expensive.Guest review byannUnited Kingdom - 10.0
