- From US$198.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 133 reviewsWow, Elizabeth, you have a gem of a property located close to town with lovely surrounding countryside. We arrived extremely late at night and you were there to welcome us, as tired as we were, we could not have asked for a better welcome. We had a wonderful room with all amenities and bathroom needs waiting for us. A wonderful night's sleep was had on a very comfortable bed. On our two days stay Elizabeth prepared a very personal breakfast for us each morning that was to die for. We left well fed for the day. With nice grounds to sit out in the sunshine or the guests personal reading room, adequate on-site parking. We wished we could have stopped longer but we had to head off to a certain Golf tournament that was being held at Royal Portrush. We look forward to returning at the first opportunity. A wonderful stay is assured. Best wishes for your visit - Rex Smith.Guest review byREX NORWICHAustralia
- From US$175.92 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 645 reviewsThis was an amazing hotel! Perfect location for our needs, right in town and next door to a fantastic pub "The Squealing Pig" where our event was taking place and not far from our family gathering in Rockcorry. (BTW the Squealing Pig was very accomodating to our very Vegan daughter and her infant son); The staff at the hotel was pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was fantastic with a full menu of options The town has a nice mall and shopping options; we had our laundry done down the street and back the same day if you get it there early. The Monaghan Museum was fantastic (they are moving to a new location down the street. The restaurants were great and we especially were impressed with 'Eastern Balti House' with the best service and great food!Guest review byRobertUnited States

Had a lovely lunch in the bar. Food arrived quickly and was priced reasonably. We were facilitated with an early check in and we booked a taxi through front desk to a nearby wedding. Breakfast was freshly prepared and had plenty of choice.Guest review byAislingIreland

Mary even demonstrated an impromptu little Irish jig for us. 🙃All of them went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Monaghan town seems to have no real focal centre but this doesn't stop it from being a warm and interesting place to stay for a few days. I suggest a visit to the County Museum first in its brilliant new home. The present displays give you a feel for the region and the peoples over centuries as they lived and live their lives in a genuine "borderland". Congratulations to the Museum curators. Such a visit will stand you in good stead to enjoy the friendly population and their places of hospitality and their ways of life in their almost unique county.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0

There is very little in Clones but we were there to visit friends. You can eat in the Creighton Hotel in Clones but it wasn't great. We found a lovely pub restaurant in Belturbet called the Seven Horseshoes. If you want to trace your Irish ancestry the library in Clones has an excellent genealogy section and staff to helpGuest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Monaghan is great - a relatively undiscovered part of Ireland and as such a hidden gem, with a broad range of walking/hiking options and quite some historically important sites, also with castles, gardens, parks and lakes. County Monaghan has got it all.Guest review byRonaldNetherlands - 8.0

A town not too far from Dublin airport and within easy distance to Co Tyrone ,Northern Ireland. The locals very very friendly and the local pubs were traditional , well at least the ones I went into. YES the Guinness does taste different to the British variety .Ireland in common with most places these days is not a cheap place ,indeed the price of property is on par with England as opposed to a few years when it was dirt cheap. Roads generally in good repair , the main ones , the side roads can be problematic.Guest review byPATRICKUnited Kingdom - 2.0

On the breakfast was a problem to get tea and coffee ... Breakfast was not that good ! JUST BAD EXPERIENCE!Guest review byDim - 10.0
