FAQs about hotels in Bali
An Island Dream
The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.
The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.
On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.
Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.
Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

Ubud is a lovely spot.
Ubud is a lovely spot. Lots of places to walk, eat and have a spa. Cafe Mudra is lovely to while away an afternoon. Go down to the Yoga Barn for some meditation or just to sit in peace. Go on the Orange Fields rice walk, right in town but take a few steps and out in the rice fields. Very spiritual place. Busy now though, lots of traffic zooming about so take that into account. A lot of time spent building new places to stay but some of that money needs to be spent on fixing the pavements. Watch for potholes when walking. Overall, favourite spot in Bali.Guest review byadrianAustralia - 6.0
Great for family and learners surfing watching.
Great for family and learners surfing watching. Great swimming pool swimming - temperature good not cold like Ubud! Near to the wonderful perfect Poppies Restaurant [10 mins walk] been "the place" since 1973 I believe. Go there most days - hidden in a garden and every single staff is lon term and part of the Poppies experience.Guest review byRobertSingapore - 8.0

I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. The trip to the airport took 2 1/2 hours which was approximately 17 klm from where I was staying and not in peak hour!!!Guest review bysally thomasAustralia - 4.0

Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (before Covid). It is no longer the "awesome value" holiday destination. Most (probably all) the accommodation and eateries are owned by ex-pat Aussies and, as a consequence, the prices you pay for eating out and accommodation are "Melbourne" prices - eg. Spice Mantra entrees are around AU$16 plus about 20% in additional taxes. Maybe the business owners are trying to make up for what they lost during Covid??? I think that is why other holiday destinations (such as Vietnam) are becoming more popular.Guest review byWILKINSONAustralia - 10.0
Uluwatu is an amazing place!
Uluwatu is an amazing place! We explored the area by motorbike and taxi, spent our days surfing and relaxing on the beaches, and enjoyed the local restaurants. The people are very friendly, and everything has great quality—it was a truly memorable experience.Guest review byJuan ManuelAustralia - 8.0
Great restaurants. Great paths along beach.
Great restaurants. Great paths along beach. Super mall with designer shops. Felt safe. Downside would be they are digging up the pavements which will be good for future travellers but was quite hazardous presently.Guest review bylorraineAustralia - 8.0

you can see it in 2 days pretty much. We did find some great little restaurants. Coco Penida and Tropiz. food and service were excellent. Penida is a must see but probably once every blue moon is enoughGuest review byGarryAustralia - 10.0

Great small island best stay here the longest part of your trip not the shortest, I was here 15 years ago and its hardly changed unlike the rest of Bali. Mushroom beach is defiantly the best place for lazy style island life! If you don't stay in a beach front you may be disappointed with the surroundings and unmade roads around Mushroom bay so stay as close to the beach as possible, Beanbag beach night dining and each beachside restaurant has a small camp fire on the beach at night. Same as everywhere in SE Asia a few steps off the beach and the warungs are 1/2 the price of beachfront food and drinks. Suits couples and families best as there is no nightlife at this end of the island although beachfront has live music most nights! I could spend my entire Bali trip on Lembongan.Guest review byDennisAustralia - 8.0
The area had everything a traveller to Bali required.
The area had everything a traveller to Bali required. The footpaths could do with some repair but the streets and surrounds to reasonably clean. We visited several bars and eateries and none disappointed although the "Steak Project" was a bit on the expensive side. Plenty of shopping areas and spas for a massage or three.Guest review byHill - 8.0
