A+ location in Canggu, right by a main artery. The staff was incredible. We were on our honeymoon and they put a nice decoration on our bed and provided us breakfast in bed the next day. They left a room open for us as we had a late flight. The breakfast is amazing, our favorite was the French toast. Great wifi. They helped us rent a scooter during our time there. The general manager, YuSee (may have spelled that wrong), was so friendly and accommodating.

This palce is wonderful, ths staff are so nice, specially HAMDI, who made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Location is a bit isolated, but it's great for relaxing. Room and pool were amazing. We loved the food and the restaurant. We rented a scooter to move around the island and had an amazing time.

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea.     Everything was absolutely amazing, starting with the people who were so welcoming. The pool is stunning as promised with breathtaking views of the jungle. The breakfast is one of the best we have had (ever) with fresh products including home made sourdough selections and plenty of choices for everyone. We also went on one of the excursion planned by the hotel, both the driver and the guide were amazing and we had a fantastic time despite of the rain. They have an animal garden where the kids can feed the goats and cows. They also have times during the day were the kids can feed the hundred Coi carps. The SPA is also gorgeous with very nice treatment options.

    Ubud is super beautiful- great for nature lovers who want to be in a peaceful environment, the centre is a bit busy though which is expected as that’s where a lot of markets are. A lot of coffee , rice farms , art to explore and an abundance of options for food.

    Busy! Lots of restaurants and bars though, shops and massage, beauty places. Narrow pavements like much of Bali. Beach is lovely and wide, quite hard to swim but good for a dip and great for surf lessons.

    I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. The trip to the airport took 2 1/2 hours which was approximately 17 klm from where I was staying and not in peak hour!!!

    Uluwatu is an amazing place!

    Uluwatu is an amazing place! We explored the area by motorbike and taxi, spent our days surfing and relaxing on the beaches, and enjoyed the local restaurants. The people are very friendly, and everything has great quality—it was a truly memorable experience.

    Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (before Covid). It is no longer the "awesome value" holiday destination. Most (probably all) the accommodation and eateries are owned by ex-pat Aussies and, as a consequence, the prices you pay for eating out and accommodation are "Melbourne" prices - eg. Spice Mantra entrees are around AU$16 plus about 20% in additional taxes. Maybe the business owners are trying to make up for what they lost during Covid??? I think that is why other holiday destinations (such as Vietnam) are becoming more popular.

    The new Icon Bali Shopping Mall is wonderful and opens out at one end onto the Beach. Lovely restaurants and Cafes and also Some High End shops for the Rich Tourists!! However, the road and pedestrian Footpaths out front on the main road ( Jalan Danau Tamblingan) are appalling. Much extra care needs to be taken if walking along this road to explore outside the Mall. A trip hazard at almost every step. I'm not exaggerating!

    Great small island best stay here the longest part of your trip not the shortest, I was here 15 years ago and its hardly changed unlike the rest of Bali. Mushroom beach is defiantly the best place for lazy style island life! If you don't stay in a beach front you may be disappointed with the surroundings and unmade roads around Mushroom bay so stay as close to the beach as possible, Beanbag beach night dining and each beachside restaurant has a small camp fire on the beach at night. Same as everywhere in SE Asia a few steps off the beach and the warungs are 1/2 the price of beachfront food and drinks. Suits couples and families best as there is no nightlife at this end of the island although beachfront has live music most nights! I could spend my entire Bali trip on Lembongan.

    The area had everything a traveller to Bali required. The footpaths could do with some repair but the streets and surrounds to reasonably clean. We visited several bars and eateries and none disappointed although the "Steak Project" was a bit on the expensive side. Plenty of shopping areas and spas for a massage or three.

    Each beach very different,so travelled quite a bit to get to them-lots to see & do away from the beach eg visited the elephant sanctury,released day old turtles on kuta beach.Ubud was a great place to visit-we went to an indonesian dance show at the palace which was amazing,great markets here but be where the traffic here is horrendous!
