Amazing Hotel, really nice room, great toiletries, etc. The breakfast is the best hotel buffet I had in a long time. But the best thing about this hotel is the atmosphere, the buildings are beautifully restored thatched dependencies of the monastery. Staying here is a no brainer if you pass by the Balaton lake area.

Friendly and professional staff, a welcome drink provided upon check-in. We have free wine tasting during our stay. The room is almost new, clean, with a beautiful view of Lake Balaton and Tihany.     All the personal at hotel it self is ultra but ultra kind. I was really impressed with professionalism even from the very young staff at restaurant. This is first impression. Hotel itself it's very well placed, all the surroundings are well taken care of. I was very pleased with all the services and the quality of this accommodation was far above any expectations. I strongly recommend to try this place.

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths.

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths. There is a beautiful promenade on the shore with stalls selling local products. You can rent a colorful boat to ride on the lake, or take a train for a half-hour ride around the city. There is always something going on on the promenade too. Highly recommended!

    Beautiful excursion place - Hungarian Provence.

    Beautiful excursion place - Hungarian Provence. I recommend visiting outside the main tourist season. The prices are higher, but the place offers an excellent starting point for walking, cycling or car tourism around Lake Balaton.

    Nice, small city with (paid) beach at Balaton lake. Full of tourist in the centre(parkings also paid) but if you go uphill - towards hills - you can find not only delicious wine but relaxing atmosphere.

    Veszprem is a small city, with some very impressive architecture, and interesting history. Also a nice place to just explore . The area along the riverside which passes the bottom entrance to the zoo then reaches a really nice park is a favoured walk for us . The centre has a good selection of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes and budgets . One thing to be aware of is that lunch is the Hungarian main meal of the day , therefore we have a couple of times tried to get a meal a bit later on the evening , depending on the time of year or day of the week that has sometimes been hard to find . Getting around , we can walk anywhere it’s a compact city . We generally get a lift from family to and from Station, after that we walk , if your fairly fit and can walk for about an hour I think you won’t need public transport but it is available if required . We are 3 adults so can’t say what children would like other the zoo and ice cream shops which are very good .

    Great place to be in the summer but also off-season. Clean and cozy atmosphere with just enough things to do. The beach is exceptionally clean and the water is good for swimming. Better than on the south side of the lake.

    This resort was easy to get to.

    This resort was easy to get to. The Strand had everything that you need, easy access to the water, good locker facilities, entertainment and play areas for children, and some unassuming yet delicious restaurants. It is easy to travel to Tihany, Balatonfured and the whole of the North shore. There are also several good supermarkets in and around Alsóörs.

    The staff were for me the stand out in the overall experience. This hotel is great for families who want to be close to the beach. The rate we had was inclusive of evening meal and breakfast. Food was perfectly adequate and atypical of this type of hotel - but tasty and lots of it!

    Révfülöp is a real gem if you want to stay a few days at lake Balaton. Nice beach, a few really good restaurants and sweetshops. If you leave behind the crowd in the center, you find cute weekend houses with beautiful gardens, vineyards and fields on the hill. There is a port and you can choose among various sightseeing boats. If you like sports, you can rent a bike and visit the neighboring cities. It is an easy ride as the bikeway is smooth and flat.

    A good location for visiting Lake Balaton. Try to avoid August - especially late August. Property is generally fully booked/overbooked due to vacation season and crowds/noise are omnipresent - unless you like that sort of thing.

    The town is small and quiet-ish.

    The town is small and quiet-ish. There are some nice hikes worth taking, especially at sunset. (check the Guard Tower Area and the ) Not sure if it's all year round, but in September many of the restaurants and terraces were closing at 18:00 local time. You can take the long route north to get to Tihany, but the ferry is faster and not that expensive (in 2023 about 10 EUR for 1 car + 1 person).
