Exciting Holidays for Everyone
Surrounded by clear blue waters, Zakynthos (or Zante) is the 3rd largest island in the Ionian Sea, named after the son of Dardanus. This green island features mountain villages, fertile plains and gorgeous beaches.
Zakynthos was destroyed after the Great Earthquake of 1953 and rebuilt according to an anti-seismic code. Some of the buildings which were not damaged are St. Dionysios Cathedral, the National Bank and the church of St. Nicholas.
The island has one of the most famous Greek attractions - the spectacular Navagio Beach. Accessible only by boat, the 'Shipwreck' is an isolated beach with white pebbles and turquoise waters.
Set amongst olive groves and vineyards, the tourist resort of Tsilivi is full of traditional taverns and bars. The beach village of Laganas is a real gem for young people that love clubbing and are looking for a hotel on the Strip, but also for families seeking a shallow beach and warm waters. The Caretta turtle visits Laganas beach during its reproductive period and lays its eggs on the soft, golden sand.

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the port and once you go in you dont want to leave anymore. We cancelled all the plans and decided to stay at hotel because it gave us such a Bali vibe. We found Tsilivi to be absolutely lovely and very convenient – a place where you can find everything you’d want on vacation. There are plenty of sea sports and activities for all ages, along with many nice restaurants, bars, pastry shops, bakeries, and even apothekes, so you’re never missing anything. It’s a lively yet family-friendly area, offering something for everyone in our family to enjoy. Another big plus is its location – being so close to Zakynthos Town, you can get there in less than 15 minutes. There are lots of places to eat and drink in the town as well as a variety of shops. The town is very accessible from the airport and ferry port. There is a town beach within easy walking distance. As someone with gluten and lactose intolerances, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of options available. I had the best swordfish grill at Sizzle N' Grill - picture attached - highly recommend them! The owner and whole team were lovely, hospitable, flexible with my diet, and always happy to help. Parthenon and Ambrosia also offered great food with plenty of choices for both pescatarians and meat lovers. Good selection of restaurants at fair prices, Greccos for fresh fish was superb and plenty of places served authentic Greek dishes. We found that 'free wine' was best avoided although the food was good! Costa's on the beach was very good and Shoestring further down the coast is well worth a visit. The Mitsos Hotel welcomes visitors and has a large swimming pool and refreshments served to sunbeds for anyone who goes there - all you have to do is buy refreshments at reasonable prices. This seems to apply to all places with a pool and sunbeds. The hire car was a mixed blessing as the satnav had to be paired with my mobile phone and sat coverage is partial. Amoudi is such a friendly place and will make you want to yearn to come back again and again .It is a quiet place but will make you welcome and is a beach lovers paradise .Plenty of good quality places to dine out at reasonable prices. Met numerous people who were regulars at the resort and I can understand why they come back again and again. I am hoping to do the same myself at my earliest opportunity and will advise other friends to do the same. Calm and very nice area. Close to the sea, perfect for relaxation, away from the crowds. The only thing i do not like, but this is not related to this specific area, are the roads.
