We booked this hotel for 3 days, based mainly on price, putting in second the location (Karterados is uncomfortable for bus transfers, and I didn't plan to hire a car). It turned out to be a really beautiful structure, above our expectations: nice room, well furnished, clean (they changed our towels every day). But the surprise was the staff, kudos to them for always making us feel comfortable. Although our stay in the pool or at the tables has always been short and occasional, they never failed to offer us drinks (coffee, sangria, ouzo). We only had breakfast, even on that occasion we were always offered something. Prices for other meals are aligned with others, unfortunately we didn't have a chance to compare the quality. Moreover, at check-out we were offered an excellent bottle of white wine, luckily arrived at home intact. They offer transfer for every place: the ones to/from the port (Athinios) or the airport has the same price, the firts is convenient, the other less (only 4 km), but aligned with all the others. After checking with other agencies, we booked from them a catamaran cruise, the price was identical to the minimum found elsewhere, so, why not? So, what about? everything perfect, congratulations! Buses to Fira pass 50 meters from the hotel, and connections with other destinations, at Fira bus station, are immediate or almost (we went to Oja this way). If you plan to walk to Fira, keep in mind the first part of the path has no sidewalk. We did it the first day without problems, despite the traffic.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Greece. Beautifully built at an intimate location. Hosts were exceptionally accommodating and made sure we were properly taken care of from arrival till departure. A Greek Island Dream

Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.

High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.

Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.

Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.

We got a complimentary room upgrade from the hotel and coincidentally it was the morning before we got engaged! So it was faith!     Fira is a fun place to stay - it does get busy when the cruise ships are in, but not nearly as packed as Oia. It's still got great views and is photo worthy - although not quite as stunning as Oia. HOWEVER it's amazingly place for exploring the island - taxis are very expensive on Santorini, so being able to take the cheap and reliable busses from the main bus station in Fira to get to key places around the island was a really cost effective and efficient way to get around.

    So beautiful and picturesque! Take lots of photos, you won’t regret it! Restaurants are a bit overpriced but there are plenty of other food options around. The tours are worth it so be sure to book something you’d like to see. A car to get around is best but the buses are so easy to use to tour the whole island!

    It's not a sandy beach, but it's very beautiful. You should have that special shoes to walk on the beach because of the little rocks. We used public transportation and it's ok. The price is fair and they have buses to all the main places of the island. We had breakfast at a small coffee shop near the hotel and it was amazing both the food and the staff. There's a street with good restaurants and many souvenir stores near the beach.

    It’s an expensive town. Beach is difficult - all bars and restaurants offer ‘free sunloungers’ to customers but then you must spend at least €20pp in the restaurant- and are persistent on reminding you to spend the money. There is VERY difficult sea access all along the beach - slippery flat rock for quite a while - so getting in and out of the sea was somewhat challenging. And large waves. And it was boiling hot - not great. I wouldn’t consider returning ever!

    Imerovigli is a stunning destination, with incredibly beautiful accommodations and restaurants. The only downside is the many stairs you need to climb, which can be tiring in the evening after a full day. On the other hand, in the early morning I really enjoyed jogging through the area. Overall, I loved it and I highly recommend visiting

    Not much happening in Karterados and Fira is bloody expensive. I would however recommend moving on to other nicer islands such as Milos, Ios, Naxos and particularly Paros. Santorini is a bit shit, the steps from the old port are literally covered in Donkey shit, it's disgusting

    Akrotiri is a beautiful town.

    Akrotiri is a beautiful town. I definitely recommend visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site, but the entrance fee of 20 euros is honestly way too expensive. The White Beach and Red Beach are nice, but not really our thing because they’re overcrowded. We preferred finding some quieter beaches instead

    Quiet little town located quite high up on the island so the views are just awesome. It's also super central and close to everything. We hired a quad for the 4 days in Santorini, this was such a good idea as it was so easy to get around the island.

    Best location in Santorini you can get just in the the heart right in between Thira and Imerovigli - 10-15mins walk in both directions. Beautiful and relaxing town with everything you could ask for and still without the noise from clubs until late night like in Thira! Firostefani simply is a must to pick!

    the location is not what it seams, it is just between the main road and other construction sites or empty fields, with no nice view. Overrated prices on booking.com compared with the reception prices or any other nice hotels even in Oia.
