Welcoming messages before arrival. Introduction at the beginning. They welcomed us even before check-in time. And you can stay even after check-in time. Personnel was very friendly. Our room had a very cool design and was beautiful. Air conditioning and also a refrigerator. Huge swimming pool. Free drink every morning as a gift. And other occasional gifts. Gift after leaving. In the middle of the island and near the bus stop

Everything was perfect!! The suite that we stayed in, breakfast in the morning, and especially the staff. Hotel well located, near the beach, restaurants and shops... Special thank you to Dimitris. He gave us tips where to go visit and eat since this was our first time in Santorini, and he was always available if we had any questions. Thank you very much for your kindness. FAQs about hotels on Santorini

A Greek Island Dream

Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.

High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.

Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.

Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.

Wherever you choose to stay, Booking.com has a fantastic range of B&Bs, apartments and hotels in Santorini (Thira in Greek).

Fira is a fun place to stay - it does get busy when the cruise ships are in, but not nearly as packed as Oia. It's still got great views and is photo worthy - although not quite as stunning as Oia. HOWEVER it's amazingly place for exploring the island - taxis are very expensive on Santorini, so being able to take the cheap and reliable busses from the main bus station in Fira to get to key places around the island was a really cost effective and efficient way to get around.

So beautiful and picturesque! Take lots of photos, you won’t regret it! Restaurants are a bit overpriced but there are plenty of other food options around. The tours are worth it so be sure to book something you’d like to see. A car to get around is best but the buses are so easy to use to tour the whole island!

It's not a sandy beach, but it's very beautiful. You should have that special shoes to walk on the beach because of the little rocks. We used public transportation and it's ok. The price is fair and they have buses to all the main places of the island. We had breakfast at a small coffee shop near the hotel and it was amazing both the food and the staff. There's a street with good restaurants and many souvenir stores near the beach.

    It’s an expensive town.

It’s an expensive town. Beach is difficult - all bars and restaurants offer ‘free sunloungers’ to customers but then you must spend at least €20pp in the restaurant- and are persistent on reminding you to spend the money. There is VERY difficult sea access all along the beach - slippery flat rock for quite a while - so getting in and out of the sea was somewhat challenging. And large waves. And it was boiling hot - not great. I wouldn’t consider returning ever!

Imerovigli is a stunning destination, with incredibly beautiful accommodations and restaurants. The only downside is the many stairs you need to climb, which can be tiring in the evening after a full day. On the other hand, in the early morning I really enjoyed jogging through the area. Akrotiri is a beautiful town. I definitely recommend visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site, but the entrance fee of 20 euros is honestly way too expensive. The White Beach and Red Beach are nice, but not really our thing because they’re overcrowded. We preferred finding some quieter beaches instead

Best location in Santorini you can get just in the the heart right in between Thira and Imerovigli - 10-15mins walk in both directions. Beautiful and relaxing town with everything you could ask for and still without the noise from clubs until late night like in Thira! Firostefani simply is a must to pick!
