What an excellent place to choose for a short or a long stay in Pelion! We are very happy to have stayed there for a long weekend at the end of the summer. The hotel has been recently renovated, so, everything is new and of top quality. It is located under the shade of the beautiful huge trees in the village square. Waking up and being surrounded by these beautiful trees offered us great and positive energy! We booked and stayed in the family deluxe room which was spacious and it also had a large sofa and a studying desk. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and they went out of their way in order to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Mr Christos, thank you mrs Lili and all the rest of the staff. We were offered freshly made home made plum jam as a special treat! Whatever was offered in the breakfast area, it was of excellent quality. Their priority was to offer seasonal local fruits. We were lucky enough to be there and taste the first local apples of the season. Two different types of local homemade pies were on offer every day in the breakfast buffet. Lili prepared traditional loukoumades, which were served with the famous local honey of Pelion. Besides, coffee was included in the price, whereas, it is common practice to be charged extra for hot drinks at breakfast time, in other hotels imin Pelion. The atmosphere in this small traditional hotel is friendly and relaxing. The top quality bed linen and mattresses ensured that we slept very well. Also, the hotel has a centrally installed heating and cooling system. However, the trees in the square offered sufficient shade and coolness, therefore, we didn’t need to use the cooling system in August. We would love to visit this beautiful hotel in winter and experience staying there again. Once again, thank you for your hospitality!🙏

A Four Season Paradise

Green mountains, long sandy beaches, traditional villages and snowy slopes characterise the beautiful region of Pelion. The mythological land of the Centaur, Mount Pelion is full of hiking trails, springs, gorges and streams.

During winter you can visit the ski resort of Agriolefkes, which has 4 slopes and ski lifts in constant operation. Situated to the northern side of Pelion, Pelion Ski Resort offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea.

During summer, you can relax on the crystal clear beaches on the east coast and southern part of the peninsula. Milopotamos beach is surrounded by a picturesque landscape with large rocks and greenery, while the long sandy beach of Horefto has deep blue waters and several facilities for swimmers.

A perfect combination of mountain and sea, Pelion has around 24 villages including Makrinitsa, Portaria, Tsagarada, Zagora, Chorefto and Afissos. All villages have traditional houses with thick stone walls, tiny windows and roofs covered with grey slate. Most of the houses are decorated with fine artwork, carpets and antiques.     The "Ortensio" apartment we stayed in was obviously recently renovated, it was not only roomy and comfortable but also very stylish, with great lighting, beautiful porch overseeing the infinity pool and the sea below, in one word just perfect. The pool is really cool and the kids simply loved it (10 years old twins), especially before the 15th of July when there was more people at it. Breakfast is very tasty, local and always a bit different than the day before, staff, beginning with Christos, always extremely helpful. El Resto, the restaurant in which we have breakfast, later turns into one of the best a la carte restaurants in the whole area, so despite it being a bit more expensive than others, it is really worth having a dinner or two. We used the car to go to the beach, even the nearest one (Papa Nero), but one could go on foot if it is not too hot. The whole experience of staying at Agapitos deserves the warmest recommendations, it is really the place to stay when going to Pilion.

    The hotel was very nice, clean and the design was traditional and in line with the local architecture. The swimming pool was very nice when we visited during July. The staff was super accomodating and they offered us a take away breakfast as we needed to check out before the breakfast official opening. Our choice of room was on the small side and I would upgrade to a bigger room if I would stay there for longer than 1-2 nights

    The water is clean and warm, and it's not crowded if you prefer a quiet and peaceful vacation. There are many beaches and places to visit, and nothing is far away. Villages in the hills are especially interesting, very picturesque with authentic architecture. The air is much fresher and not as hot as on the coast.

    Very beautiful traditional Greek mountain village with small shops (local products) and few restaurants. Difficult to find parking in the center of the village, one public parking but it's very small. Easy to make road trips around Pelion area - go around if you have a car, this is one of the most beautiful regions in Greece (also in summer, not only winter). Some part of the roads (in Pelion area, not in Portaria) were destroyed in winter 2024 during storms. Unfortunately, they were still destroyed in July 2024. You can go around by car, roads are not closed, but needs a bit attention in many places and wouldn't recommend to drive at night (dark). Time from Portaria to beach (Agios Ioannis, Papa Nero) took from us abt 40 min so take your time. To Village "Kala Nera" (nice beach, long with plenty of place in July) a bit less.

    We really loved the apartment with the patio overlooking the sea. There was a pool and it was well kept. There were two bedrooms and two baths which were very nice. Overall. it was delightful and the private parking was a bonus.

    We spent all 12 days in the Sevasti accommodation and what I can say is all the best about the accommodation, service, cleanliness. The young lady Zoi is an extremely kind, helpful and very positive person. I can highly recommend the accommodation as well as Kala Nera Village to anyone who wants to stay in the Sevasti studio.

    A wonderful location, only 20 min from the city of Volos, with plenrty of tradirtional small stores selling local tea, woodcraft and sweets, very nice (spicy) food, and very nice narrow passages for walking tours.

    Small village who keeps the traditional architecture . All new houses are builded with same structure. Has downtown and hill position. There is inly one market and one mini market, and one souvenir shop. But there are many restaurant and caffe shops, so you can enjoy in greek food. The bigest problem in Affissos is parking , and very rare any accommodation to have parking place. All the cars are parked even on the street ( and the street is very narrow) even on the beach waht is immediately after the vilage. Access to the sea from my accommodation was just 50 m. You can swim there if you want, but if you want to go on beach than you should walk for not more than 10 min, about 300-400 m to the Abovos beach.near by there are two more beach, but on the others the problem is parking. On Abovos you have enough parking all day. The water is warm and calm all day.

    We visited Mouresi in April when it was in full spring bloom and was low season as the high season is summer when people come to enjoy the beach. We were there to walk the ancient paths that criss-cross the peninsula between villages that date from centuries of use by the people that have lived there. It is a quaint rural area of Greece! There is not a lot of cultural sightseeing...just quaint villages and windy hairpin turn roads with the ocean and beaches, making for a laid-back vacation. We were there to hike but it would be too hot in the summer.

    We found Volos to be a very nice town.

    We found Volos to be a very nice town. It has good walks and a fine shopping centre. It is not crowded with tourists like some other places and there are so many restaurants and cafes. People are friendly and it was so nice to see a town that kept it's Greek characteristics. Unfortunately Volos doesn't have a good flight connection from Athens and we had to hire a taxi, a bit costly but it was quite pleasant to travel in a comfortable luxury vehicle with a very friendly driver.
