The hotel is beautifully presented and traditional in style. It is the home of Anne-Marie and her husband and as a guest, you felt like an extension of the family, which we really loved. Our room, the Marine Suite, was exceptionally large, with separate lounge area and views over the grounds, pool and gardens. The room was very clean and was cleaned promptly every day. If I could give 11 out of 10 I would, for the host Anne-Marie and her husband who were fantastic. She was so warm, so friendly and so helpful. We really were sad to say goodbye to them. The hotel is well located in a quiet village South of Montauban, and close to the business area along the D820 road. One feels welcome in this place, dinner in the hotel restaurant is a feast and a pleasure to look forward to, the guests are a mix of business and tourists, the rooms are very large and comfortable, the owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey.
Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey. We loved the relaxed atmosphere (eg free parking), the covered market open in the morning with fresh produce, the restaurants and cafes in near to the abbey. We also enjoyed a free concert in the abbey itself after a downpour ended chances of an outdoor performance. We found the people friendly and helpful. There are a range of eating options and a lovely walk along the canal. This is the best preserved of Frances medieval towns. It is small but there is much to see. Lots to do from just wondering the streets to hiking or biking. I would highly recommend. its a nice place to visit with lots of cafe’s, bars and bistros I can recommend Bambino’s Cocktail bar a 2 minute walk from the apartment. the Monday morning market was a joy to the eye especially the spice stall and other exotic stalls. But I don’t think it would hold much interest after a couple of days but I was based there for visiting the areas mediaeval villages and the walking, it depends on what you want from a holiday. Moissac old town square is great but I would not stay anywhere else in Moissac. I was there on a Monday and all of the cute little shops were closed. We ate at a great little place called La Terrasse. The food was delicious but the service was a little slow which was the case at most eating establishments in France. An amazing French medieval town (nothing like this in the UK)- a fantastic place to walk around and stay in for a short holiday. There are flat walks up and down the river, and many well signposted walks going up into the hills around. We went to the local swimming pool, swum in the local river, ate in local restaurants. Amazing medieval village situated along a beautiful river and sprawling nature and greenery. The village is exactly as expected, small cobble streets; each building with character and a story to tell. Everyone in the town was so lovely, and extremely welcoming, and most of all patient, as you practiced your primary school french.
