Angers city is easily accessible from Nantes by train. (35Mins). Take a walk along the far side of the old bridge from the food hall and find the restaurants sited along the river bank, where most of the locals hang out. Saumur is a gem of a town, there are so many activities that you can participate in, whether cycling, kayaking, walking around the historic town or going for the famous degustation at one of the numerous vineyards that are within easy distance. It is also the gateway to dozens of chateau. There are cruises on the river to suit most budgets and restaurants from the basic to the expensive. There are also various markets and festivities that take place. If you have time the Petits Train is a must, forty minutes being driven around the historic town gives you a new perspective on life, especially the view from the right bank which lets you enjoy the historic panorama on the left bank.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We had a great stay with Jerome & Ye. The accommodation is ideally located in the centre of Cholet 5 minutes walk from the main square with a car park with VERY reasonable rate next door. Les Sables d'Olone is a lovely seaside resort on the coast of the Vendée, and visiting is a delightfully French experience - the architecture, the lovely beach, the bars and restaurants - it's a truly lovely place. There's plenty to see and do there, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of places to stay. It's an attractive mix of old-fashioned and modern, with the added benefit of plenty of street parking. Honestly, this is just not ok in 2025. I sleep about 160 nights per year in a hotel, normally 3 stars. F1 after their refurbishments is simply better. Wherever I go in "premiere classe", it's always like: "animals might just sleep here but not us". INVEST guys, how this chain survives, I don't know. Don't be mistaken, just a low price is not enough to survive. Knowing your business is, and that is never the case, in whatever "hotel" of them you sleep. Personally, this is my refuge when I need to sleep and have no other, more human options. All depending of my routing. Just do something, enjoy your business, make a proud company for owners and employees. Either the hotel chain doesn't have any money to invest or they don't want to. Either way, this goes bust one day as I strongly believe, after at least 10 years with, thank God, maximum 10 nights in this chain, will never happen.Guest review byJeroenFrance - 10.0

Friendly and picturesque neighbourhood, with great little local shops and well-stocked small supermarket on the way to the enormous beach. Beach has lots of options for wind-sports hire, and other water activities. The beach cafes looked nice. Easy going, obviously some money around, a casino further down the prom. Almost exclusively French visitors and residents when we were there in mid-July. Appartment right next to train station, for easy SNCF to adjoining towns and Nantes. I went to the Nantes Atlantic Airport a few times to take a plane but I don't really know the area. In general, the area around the Nantes Atlantic Airport is an industry area, car parks, warehouses. It is not a pleasant place to walk around. The airport is so small and nearly couldn't handle the demand of people or it only lacks of good management. I believe that they are going to build a new airport, bigger, more modern very soon. We go there because we could have a direct flight to a few destinations from there. The long term car park is at reasonable price. All this makes our trips well time managed. There could be some pleasant places to visit but I am not aware of. And you need to have a car. The connections between Nantes City Centre and the airport is still confusing. And there should be paid navette serving the Airport and the near by beautiful areas. So the travellers without transport could have more choices of hotels instead of paying a high price to the rare few hotels opposite the airport.
