FAQs about hotels in Brittany
Like Travelling Back in Time
France’s most westerly region, Brittany boasts beautiful beaches, lush countryside and laidback towns with medieval castles and half-timbered buildings. The capital Rennes has the most oddly-angled of the latter alongside grand public buildings.
To the north, fishing village Cancale is famous for oysters, and the walled port town of St Malo has ferries to England, while Ireland is served by charming Roscoff. Between them lie many of Booking.com’s Brittany hotels by the beach, and the beautiful, pink granite cliffs near Perros-Guirec.
Inland, Morlaix’s cobbled streets and wood-clad houses are spectacularly dominated by a 19th-century viaduct. Dinan Castle overlooks the riverside town below, as does the incredible medieval castle in Fougères.
Facing the Crozon peninsular are Douarnenez with its pretty port, and the university town of Brest whose history is inextricably linked to the sea. Quimper to the south-west has a beautiful old town, and its river joins the sea at exclusive Benodet, home to one of southern Brittany’s sandy beaches. More are near Lorient, while Quiberon beach, on a rugged peninsular, is popular with locals.
Nearby Carnac has some of the prehistoric megaliths for which Brittany is known, while picturesque Auray is on a bend in a river opening into the Gulf of Morbihan whose undulating coastline continues to the colourful, walled city of Vannes.

- From £121.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 172 reviewsThe hotel is newly refurbished and the attention to detail shows. It is positioned well on the edge of the town centre with lovely views out over the sea. The beautiful beaches are within walking distance. The evening meal in the restaurant was beautiful. The staff were incredibly attentive but not at all overbearing. We had a problem on our first night and were quickly and efficiently moved to another room without question . The ambience allowed a completely relaxed experience.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom

We have travelled regularly to St Malo. The walled part of the city is beautiful, plenty of places to visit, walk around the walls etc, lots of brasseries/restaurants/eateries/bars to choose from.Guest review byJoanneUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Great spot to stay if you want to drive to Saint Malo or Mont Saint Michel, very nice town, bubbly student life and little spots to drink or eat. One day is enough but a great spot to move around if you rent a car. It's very close if you take a train from Paris.Guest review byAndreaGuatemala - 8.0
Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic,...
Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. A town and port wander would take a good couple of hours. Buzzes with life in the night.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The public transport system is very good.
The public transport system is very good. Les Capucins and PAM are admirable examples of the transformation of industrial space into cultural and social centres. It's just a pity that there's so much 'tagging' to spoil the urban landscape.Guest review byMalcolm - 8.0
Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city.
Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city. There is a rich heritage, many old houses, half-timbered houses, pedestrian and shopping streets. The cathedral is monumental, original with its two towers of the 19th and its choir off-center. I went to multiple spots/beaches close to Quimper: 1. Phare d'Eckmühl 2. Plage la Torche-Tronoën 3. Pont-l'Abbé 4. Quimper itself.Guest review byMonish MesheriNetherlands - 10.0
The beautiful old houses & the interesting small shops.
The beautiful old houses & the interesting small shops. We had some meals at a restaurant at the bottom of the street,. The mussels there were fantastic as was the cider. Generally the Breton gallettes were very interesting & well worth trying as were the crepes, of course. The port area was very attractive & I loved the surrounding countryside & the tree lined roads.Guest review byEliBUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Saw puffins and gannets on very reasonably price boat trip to Sept Iles. Lovely walking around the port in the evening, especially if you are impressed with the dramatic daily tidal differences. Ty Breizh has an excellent menu and excellent service. Short drive to wonderful Monday market in Trestagol.Guest review byByrd - 6.0
We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient.
We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient. The town was virtually rebuilt after World War 2 damage and is therefore not all that aesthetically pleasing in itself. However, a good base for hopping on a train to Quimper, Vannes or other 'pretty' destinations.Guest review byAlunUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dinard is a lovely, clean and friendly town that is very 'chilled' - it puts our UK seaside resorts to absolute shame. Perhaps because there were few 'brits' there - certainly not many 'tubs & tats' There are loads of good shops and restaurants and the locals are really welcoming. The facilities are great for adults and kids alike and prices were quite normal.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom
