One of the best hotels we have stayed at! Every corner of this hotel is so cosy and well decorated in modern vintage style, the restaurant has great food and breakfast. Love, love, love this hotel. Beautiful interior design, gorgeous views of the bay and terrific sunsets from the balcony. Delicious, relaxing breakfast al fresco. Zero issues with overcrowding or flow of people around the breakfast buffet. Delicious food served poolside and in the restaurant. Lovely spa and gym. Fabulous roof top pool for families and a stunning adult only infinity pool on the upper level. Plenty of sun loungers on various levels. Love the complimentary drinks vouchers upon arrival, the beach bag with flip flops, complimentary mini bar and daily treats. A superb place to relax & unwind. We had to amend our holiday last minute as our daughter had to undergo emergency surgery. The hotel was so understanding and flexible. Amazing service. This is why we will continue to return. The Esplendido has maintained its high standards for many years.

A firm favourite with sun-seekers, Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest Balearic Island. The enchanting capital Palma has a grand cathedral overlooking the harbour, a 14th-century castle and Arab baths, to name just a few highlights. Nearby is Palma Nova, home to lots of Majorca hotels on the beach within easy reach of the fantastic nightlife in Magaluf. Further along are calmer Santa Ponsa and Port d’Andratx. In the opposite direction, S’Arenal has a fantastic, palm-lined beach and quick airport transfers. North of the island is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana whose mountain lakes are absolutely beautiful. A trip to its highest peak – Puig Major – offers wonderful views. Down below is Port de Soller, a lovely town with some excellent Majorca hotels for families. Other popular family resorts are Alcudia with its long sandy beach, and neighbouring Port de Pollenca. Ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia are nearby. In the east Cala Ratjada benefits from 2 beautiful coastlines, while the beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor certainly live up to their names – Good and Best. Cala d’Or (Golden Cove) is another aptly named resort: its golden, sandy beach is nestled between rocks lapped by turquoise waters.     A beautiful city, a must to visit.

    A beautiful city, a must to visit. Wonderful architecture and interesting shops. A lovely department store. The cathedral is magnificent. We had a lovely day trip into the mountains. We also visited the Miro gallery and museum. There are frequent buses and taxis are quite cheap. Plenty of nice restaurants.

    Playa de Palma is beautiful with a beautiful beach and many places to find a drink or meal. The only major drawback is that the hotel feels more like a “mini Germany,” since it’s a very popular holiday spot for German travelers. If you’re hoping for something that feels more local, just keep that in mind.

    I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel!

    I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, varied, and beautifully presented every day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always with a smile, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location was also perfect – close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!

    Magaluf is a great destination for those who enjoy nightlife and clubbing – there are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from, offering something for everyone. You'll also find large supermarkets and a wide variety of good restaurants. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic getaway, as it's more lively and party-oriented. It’s a convenient base for exploring the southern part of Mallorca and is close to Palma. Renting a car on the island is easy and can be done at affordable prices.

    Typical Spanish tourist town.

    Typical Spanish tourist town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, some with live music. Would of like it to be a bit more boutique'y and a little less Spanish/British bucket and spade. So not a lot to see, unless you like these very typical Spanish beach resorts. But overall good for a short break.

    The neighborhood of the hotel is quite calm and not so loud as it resides the north part of playa de Palma. the south part is more busy with loud tourist, but at midnight all loud public music is turned off.

    It really depends what you want from your vacation.

    It really depends what you want from your vacation. I would stay again, but now I know what to expect. It doesn’t have that “local” feel, it is much more touristic. But it’s a good and affordable base to explore other areas of Mallorca. I would definitely recommend for families and also for people who enjoy night live. If you’re not too fussed by the surroundings and just want an area to sleep, but venture to other places, then this is also definitely a good area

    The Cala d’Or resort is a lovely resort….

    The Cala d’Or resort is a lovely resort…. It has lovely bars and restaurants… the marina is incredible with amazing views from the terrace of restaurants.. we had incredible meals for both lunch and dinner and really enjoyed our wine… overall a wonderful short break.

    We didn’t realise before we booked that Santa Ponsa is...

    We didn’t realise before we booked that Santa Ponsa is popular with groups of boys and girls on party holidays. It’s such a short trip to Magaluf that they seem to stay in Santa Ponsa and get a cab into Magaluf. Because of this a lot of bars are very busy and geared towards groups of young lads/girls. We didn’t find it a major issue however one to bear in mind for a family holiday.
