The Finca was a great place to stay. A rural location 4km along a dirt track (flat and well maintained but stony so we drove slowly in our hire car). The house was lovely and decorated with many interesting pictures and ornaments. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he directed us to a good walk the day we were there. The food was all home cooked and excellent and also very good value for money. The lounge area was very comfortable and the outside seating area around the pool was a nice place to sit in the autumn sun (too cold to swim when we were there in late October).

    Hotel is located by the river Jucar in a valley surrounded by towering walls of a canyon. Lovely swimming pool with grassed area, tennis court and plenty of parking. Hotel is modern and clean. Good sized bedroom and bathrooom - most rooms having a south facing balcony. Dining area spacious including large outside dining space. Staff friendly and helpful. Great menu and very tasty food so recommend having dinner there.

    The house was more than we expected. As we took our smal dog she was able to wander free. It was only a short drive into nearest town with normal bank, shopping and bar/restaurant facilities, and near to the stunning lakes. Beautiful surroundings with benefit of a terrace to enjoy a wine and a log fire as evening a little chilly. Would recommend and are planning to return in the future. 5* and staff on hand if needed.

    The city springs to life during the first two weeks in september: Feria de Albacete - a bit like the spanish version of the "Oktoberfest in Munich". A leasurely walk through the city will take half a day on flat terrain. Since Albacete is famous for knife production don´t miss the Knife Museum.

    The rustic house was full of original features and had great views, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Lovely views over Alcala. Bonus to find it had a little beach area next to the river, very safe for young children. If you had mobility issues, bear in mind some if the streets are cobbled and on varying levels. Very good place to take lovely walks along the river. Castle and cave houses are worth a visit, we enjoyed meals at Fongones el Chato, Los Robles and Taperia el Chato. Great adventure area for young people, kayaking, paddle surf.

    Villarrobledo has a lovely main square with a porticoed ayuntamiento and a huge 16th century church. There are numerous bars and restaurants around the square. Food is good, as us the local white wine, and the prices are reasonable. The town must have been very prosperous a few centuries ago as there are some beautiful old, honey-coloured stone houses with coats of arms dotted along the side roads. It makes for a delightful overnight stay.

    Lovely welcome, we managed in Spanish and our host was friendly and welcoming. Place was tranquil and quiet and the cabins were cosy. It was an overnight stop for us with our dog so was perfect. Secure parking and a good quiet evenings sleep. bring food and drink with you if you are overnighting as there are limited options close by.

    Almansa castle is an impressive sight and worth a visit for the views and/or the history on the self guided tour. A visit by night is also worth it! I caught a wonderful sunset over Almansa from there. Jardine de los reyes catolicos is a beutiful park worth visiting too, with a buzzing evening life but lovely and quiet during the siesta if you want a peaceful time.

    The location was ideal, the village very clean with a small population. During our visit not many bars/restaurants were open. There was a municipal swimming pool and playing area. Anyone with mobility issues would find Ayna difficult being on a hill. Also to reach the river was downhill by roadway or down uneven, stoney paths. Ayna is a beautiful Spanish village which we would recommend. Hotel Fellipe served meals every day and the odd restaurant was open for dinner in the evening.

    Unfortunately the hotel did not meet any of our expectations or requirements. Facilities were poor with no on site dining or place to take a relaxing refreshment. Breakfast did not cater for vegetarians. The room was noisy due to hearing conversations & movement from corridors & other rooms ! The ambience was stark without any character . Overall very disappointing for a 4 star hotel .

    Unfortunately we experienced heavy rain at times during our visit which hampered us getting about at times which could not be helped. Advise booking in advance if eating out in the evenings as restaurants fill up very quickly.

    We are doing a family road trip across Spain - and so far Alcala Del Jucar has been the very best place we have visited……. We felt that we got the real Spain staying there. Amazing views, fabulous restaurant's, great bars!! Municipal pool was a bonus for the kids. Walking up to the castle through the winding streets was so interesting And the visits into caves was excellent! We stayed 2 nights and felt that that was just right !!

    We were only in Almansa overnight but arrived in time to enjoy a walk around the town. The history of the Battle of Almansa was unknown to us and was most interesting. It is also an ideal place to stop, not far off an autopista, to break a journey.
