The lovely staff at the restaurant gave me some snacks from their dinner buffet to take away to my room since I had a very early tour the next morning and if it weren't for the lovely staff at the restaurant I wouldn't had time for breakfast that day. Nothing more incredible than an egyptian sunset along with a refreshing bath at their beautiful pool after a long day of walk, sorounded by their live music performance at the adjacent garden with outstanding views of the Nile river. Not only was the hotel extremely beautiful, but we were upgraded to a larger room for no additional cost and the hotel employees were extremely kind and understanding with early and late checkouts (they even made us a to-go breakfast!). Although the hotel is in a rural area of West Luxor, we had fun getting around in rickshaws or truck-beds and enjoyed soaking up the sun at the hotel’s lovely pool and gardens. Its very confortable and clean, and the staff is very nice and helpful. If you want to go to the East Bank of Luxor, the public ferry boat is just a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast is also very good and takes place in the rooftoop of the building, and the dinner was always amazing, with incredible tradicional egyptian dishes. I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids.
I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids. The taxi driver at the airport Mohamed, was very friendly and came back to collect us on time. There was a man with a horse carriage that was relentless and a liar for about 10 minutes, non-stop from the hotel to the entrance of the temple. We were the only ones walking the full avenue from Luxor temple to Karnak but it was worth it because it was peaceful and the guards were friendly. We would have liked to stroll at night time on the promenade but as soon as you were stepping outside the hotel, you were targeted by scammers. The hotel had good facilities, good food and a good swimming pool but it would have been good to enjoy a bit more freedom like in any other tourist destination.Guest review byFRANCISCASpain - 8.0

Luxor sites are great must see for travelers who loves ancient Egyptian sites. Many beautiful experiences. But unless you've got the a full time tour/handler, be prepared for the endless stream of people looking to siphon some of your pocket and time. We're 'do it yourself' kind of travelers and did so without serious issue; It takes street smarts and awareness. People generally are kind and warm and Luxor has a lot to offer. A driver/guide is essential for the West Bank sites though, many things to navigate and difficult without someone versed in the area and processes.Guest review bythomasUnited States - 10.0
Just a great city to visit
