FAQs about hotels in German Mosel
A Wine Region of Imperial Fame
A beautiful German wine district punctuated by medieval castles, the Mosel centres on the meandering Moselle River between Koblenz and the Luxembourg border. The most famous wine produced here is the crisp Riesling, and many vineyards are picturesquely located on the steep banks of the river.
The Mosel hotels, guest houses and apartments on Booking.com are spread all over this fantastic region, with many set right by the river and offering spectacular views of the lush scenery. Each town and village has its own characteristics and there are wine tours and tastings galore to be enjoyed.
There are too many Mosel Valley attractions to list them all, but highlights include Alken castle, set high on a hill overlooking the riverside village below. One of the most spectacularly located castles is at Cochem on a lush hill by a bend in the river, while Bernkastel-Kues has a stunning medieval core with brightly painted half-timbered houses.
This tranquil area has been prized since Roman times and nowhere is this more evident than in wonderful Trier. Along with ruins of 3 Roman baths and an amphitheatre, the Porta Nigra and a bridge from the imperial era still stand and Emperor Constantine’s old throne room is now a basilica.

Lovely city, lots of sights to see.
Lovely city, lots of sights to see. After 3 visits we still haven't seen everything. Lots of places to have a drink in the afternoon and early evening, but bar and terraces do seem to close early. So if it's a warm summer evening and you want to have an evening drink that may be a bit of a problem.Guest review byJackNetherlands - 8.0

A nice little town with a lovely castle but other than visiting the castle not much to do unless you are a hiker so would only recommend a short stay. Very little variance in for, too many pizza joints.Guest review byDouglasCanada - 10.0

There are lot of wineries, vineyards and hiking routes near the hotel. The drive to other villages (for example, Cochem, Bernkastel kues, etc.) on the banks of Mosel is very pleasant. The boat ride on the Mosel is very enjoyable. If you like wine, this wine region is a good place to visit.Guest review byAbhijit DebNetherlands - 10.0
Very good for walking - great trails, well-waymarked.
Very good for walking - great trails, well-waymarked. Quite a good choice of restaurants for a small town. But there is no supermarket - only a post office with a few items of food, but no fruit or yogurt.Guest review byTim SpantonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns We caught local bus to Cochem for the day -- which was very easy we travelled in October so a few places had closed but still enough places to eat and have a glass of wineGuest review byRhondaAustralia - 10.0
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks. In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you. Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.Guest review byAri FijanNetherlands - 8.0
Family vacation house on the Mosel
Family vacation house on the Mosel 3 generations of one family (and a dog) – spent here 2 nights in May, 2024. This house is a very good place for family vacation: 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with a dinner table, a living room and 2 good bathrooms. Pet-friendly – this is fortunately typical for Germany. Distances: ~ 100m from Mosel. ~ 1.3 km to Edeka supermarket, ~ 7 km to Cochem center. There are also 2 minor “cons”: no dishwash machine and no Mosel view. Friendly host. Recommended for family vacation.Guest review bySergey VorobyevNetherlands - 10.0

The best is its great location, especially in those rooms...
The best is its great location, especially in those rooms that have a total view of the Porta Nigra. It is close to the most enchanting places of Trier. The worst: a) the night staff is terrific, b) there is no designated space to leave your luggage for a few hours; they left it just behind the front desk. c) The bedclothes are not the standard in Mexico and the USA. It only includes a coat that does not completely protect you; it is too heavy in hot weather, and I suppose that having conditioned air in wintertime could be enough. But I didn´t like it.Guest review byFRANCISCO JAVIERMexico
