- From US$117.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 731 reviewsThe decor, room and facilities were all beautiful, you can tell they really put in a lot of thought into every detail for it to look that good. The food from the restaurant was also delicious and with tons of variety, I was very surprised that they carried a whole gluten-free menu (i’m celiac so you can imagine how happy I was when i found out about their menu). The staff was also wonderful -Dora was the sweetest! The location was good, maybe not walking distance from everything, but hey, no place will be walking distance from everything. However its still a good location because it’s in between different areas (downtown, malls, parks, etc) so ubering was super easy (and cheap) to different places. Overall great place and staff, also felt super safe and welcome the whole time. 10/10 recommend!Guest review byMeimeiCosta Rica
- From US$192.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 592 reviewsThe hotel is very special. We had our own cosy lodge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As it can be a bit cold at night, we even had hot-water bottles. There is also a heater. In the spacious area of the Trogon Lodge, there is very much to see, for example different species of plants and animals like humming birds, lizards and even Quatzals. The lodge does also offer a shorter and a longer exciting hiking track in the cloud forest. We booked a Quetzal watching tour in the morning and really saw about 5 Quetzals.Guest review byLukasGermany
- From US$111.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 364 reviewsAmazing fancy restaurant quality food in the rainforest. Water is good and won’t get you sick. Rooms are clean and pest free, and very comfortable for a rustic area far from the city in Costa Rica in the middle of the rainforest. There is no AC, but the fans are powerful and I slept well. Amazing bird and animal life all around, and kind and attentive staff.Guest review byFUnited States

We spent the first and last night of our trip to Costa Rica in San José, but in retrospect, that was one night too many. Due to the traffic chaos, it simply takes too long to get to the hotels in San José, so you lose the desire to really explore the city.Guest review byRobertGermany - 10.0

Escazu is a lovely suburb of San Jose and I go there to see my dentist (Go NOVA Dental CR!) -- it's a huge center for dental tourism. Otherwise there are many more compelling places to visit in CR.Guest review byRobin DrulardUnited States - 10.0

Vista Canyon Inns was highly recommended by my Doctor and they did not disappoint me. Mr. Dr. and the hospital were minutes away and the hotel arranged all my transportation. Great restaurants of all varieties and prices were within a short ride or UBER Eats. Loved this part of the Central Valley. The mall is huge but, very expensive. Much better than staying in SAN JOSE.Guest review byMarsha WaddelowUnited States - 10.0
Rivas is a great location to base yourself.
Rivas is a great location to base yourself. It's easily reachable from San Jose via good quality roads. Rivas has a great selection of national parks to visit, plenty of local restaurants and other attractions to visit and keep you busy. Additionally, it is close enough to the East coast to be a great base for day trips. We travelled to both Dominical and Uvita in under two hours. This puts a large number of other national parks within easy reach.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It feels safe, even at night to walk around. lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Traffic is very heavy though and you have to pay attention crossing the street. Feels like an upper class neighborhood that is fairly well kept up. Also on the bus line and have never had a problem getting an Uber there.Guest review byfrenchUnited States - 6.0

San Jose is a patchwork of beautiful sites amidst a chaotic mess of traffic-riddled highways. We didn't really stay long enough to give it an accurate review, but our short stay was not encouraging. We spent most of our time in Costa Rica on the Pacific Coast, which was quite pleasant.Guest review byJoshuaUnited States - 10.0

I really enjoyed the bird feeders off the deck. I felt that for the price of the room, breakfast should have been included in the price, which is very typical in Costa Rica. The diner and breakfast were very good.Guest review byAnnCosta Rica - 8.0

It is really nice, we went to Savegre for dinner since we had a reservation made on one restaurant there, but I am sure that if you plan the trip to fully stay on Copey you would find a lot to see, walk and do there. If you decide to go and visit Savegre take into consideration that it is a 40min driveGuest review byKimettCosta Rica
