- From US$36.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 604 reviewsBeautifully kept garden, variety of seating arrangements at the beach including hammocks. Quiet place to relax located at the end of a dirt road. The beach is beautiful and still very natural. Nice for walks and just watching the waves or reading a book. If you want more action, I think there are some hostels with acitivities up the road. The food was excellent and varied (try the Cazuela!) and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant service is SO slow though, for all except beer and pizza - I like to think of it as "running on beach time" .... Rooms were well equipped with good bed, AC and nice private terrace - all facilities were super clean.Guest review byKatharinaAustria
- From US$80.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 278 reviewsIt is only a few steps from the sea! The hosts are super friendly and very eager to help. The hut was cleaned every single day, with new bed sheets, which is just amazing as sand inevitably gets inside everwhere. There are loads of sunbeds and chairs of the property and a nice comunal area for relaxing. We ditched Salento for this place and could not have been happier. Salento does not even come close to the tranquility and beauty around here. The next “door” restaurant was one of the best we had in Colombia with very affordable prices.Guest review byMantasLithuania

- From US$146.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 780 reviewsThis place is beautiful - in the jungle with 10 minutes walk to the beach. We had a bungalow on the other side of the hanging bridge (from restaurant and reception) and we loved the large private terrace with hammock, table and chairs, AND sunbeds! The staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed for a week but could have stayed longer!Guest review byMariaSweden
- From US$117.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,654 reviewsThe clean and beautiful beach. The ecohab was just perfect and well protected from mosquitoes. Only hot water was missing in the shower but that wasn’t a big deal. We were staying just very shortly but during longer stay more food options might be nice. The sevice (Ricky!) was amazing. Thanks a ton!Guest review byRomanCzech Republic

At 11pm they managed to get a tour for Tayrona park the day after. Furthermore the place is a paradise the beach in front is beautiful, with very few people. Tbh I preferred their beach than the ones in Tayrona.Guest review byFrancescoItaly

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, pool was very nice with the sierra on the back. room was clean and spacious. Sound of the river was very relaxing. Food is very good and tasty, patacones were our favorites. Service just needs to be from good to great to make this the perfect hotel.Guest review bycamiloUnited States - 10.0

Fantastic hotel tucked away from the busier tourist areas .Very relaxing , car or taxi needed to visit restaurant's away from this area . Swimming in the sea is not possible due to strong waves but the pool at the hotel was lovely . We ate at the hotel most night and food and drinks were good value . Highly recommended for a relaxing escapeGuest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Guachaca was a nice tiny village to stay in with proximity to both Buritaca and Costeño beaches and Tayrona park. It's easy to catch the bus to take you along the main road to these other towns and some hikes. You can swim in the Guachaca river and there is a hike up to a waterfall on the river as well, Cascada Saltillo.Guest review byJessicaUnited States - 10.0

In general, the online description of the trail is not accurate. You are crossing a mountain range.... steep ups and downs followed by a steep down to the resort. Trails are not to U.S./Canada standards especially when one adds in the fact that horse/burrow traffic is a necessity for supplies. Hope for no precipitation.Guest review byrichardCanada - 10.0

I loved being able to hike on an uncrowded beach as well as on the nearby trails in the woods … overall it was a wonderful place to take a break . Magdalena beach house provided a nice little breakfast and nearby juanchos was one of the few places to go to for lunch or dinner. They were extremely accident and tried to prepare and cook my food in a low cholesterol fashion.Guest review byFrancineUnited States - 10.0

For those wanting to hike the Tayrona trail, this resort is close by the entrance of the park, and it is a blessing to have this place nearby after hours of walking in the heat. I had a deep tissue massage after my walk and it was divine. My room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast here is delicious and very generous. Highly recommend.Guest review byCyril SCanada - 8.0

Beaches are not as packed as they commonly are in Santa Marta during high seasons. Nice place to relax while being surrounded by beautiful nature. Of course, not everything is perfect, but you wouldn't expect that while visiting Latin America. As it is outside the city, it can be a bit hard to find good restaurants, so you might want to find a hostel with its own restaurant or book one with a kitchen to cook your meals.Guest review byKevinUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Really nice jungle park. Definitely recommend.
Really nice jungle park. Definitely recommend. I liked that there is a bus from the entrance of the park to the trailhead (2 miles - it's 5,000 cop). There are also guys who sell popsicles on the trail to Cabo San Juan and they are delicious. Great views along the way, the hike is really cool but it is a bit of a trek. There are lots of bugs because it is the jungle, so bug spray was essential. But, all in all it's pretty worth it. I also really liked visiting the other side of the park - Playa Cristal was beautiful, but there were no buses. Needed to hire a mototaxi to get there. I hope that will be different in the future! I heard there are buses that go there. Can't wait to go backGuest review byErika - 10.0
The best hostal in Tayrona!!!
The best hostal in Tayrona!!! Great small cozy and confortable hostal in the middle of the nature with great views. The room was spacious with a great bed and a private bathroom, great view to the mountains and quiet in the night. I will definitely be back soon. Delicious coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Its 8 minutes walking from the road and 15 minutes walking to the beach los cocos.Guest review byJulianaColombia
