Our stay in Futangue was absoluty amazing! Would definitely recommend this to anyone. The scenery is beautiful. It’s so special being able to sleep in this parc. We did a long hike, bike trail and Darwin frog trail with a guide, everything was super nice. The food is very good. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly. The spa is also very nice. Must visit!

A great hotel, the staff were friendly, helpful and very pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend this hotel. It's close to restaurants and the parking was by the hotel. When it got cold they fire was lit and we enjoyed a comfortable couple of hours reading by it. I would stay again.

Front desk: The front desk clerks were very hospitable, and kindly offered and arranged the reservation of taxi to a place I'd have liked to go. They also consulted me nicely about the activities in Valdivia such as a ferry tour. Bathroom: There was a small central heating system in the bathroom to keep it warm, in addition to the main one in the bedroom. There was a support bar on the wall aside the bathtub, to help us not to slip during a bath, that is helpful not only for elder people but also for anybody. There was a plug of the bathtub. It suggests, in addition to the side of the hotel, previous hotel guests have had good manners. As bathtubs in Chile are not usually equipped with a ring such that the plug is connected to the bathtub by the chain of the plug, the plug has got lost in some hotels even when the hotels equip with bathtub. View (location): The hotel lights up the garden along the river at night, that gave me further nice memory of the place. The main building of the hotel is one of the charming buildings along the Valdivia river between the bank and Haverbeck island. It must have been contributing to Valdivia's name among tourists, as I saw the building attracted the eyes of ferry tour's passengers. Breakfast: The hotel is very exceptional in Chile in that it served vegetable in addition to fruit at breakfast. I’ve ever met in any other hotels I stayed in Santiago, Valparaiso, Puerto Montt, Castro, Temuco, Pucón, Osorno.

It’s a location with amazing views particularly of the volcano. We watched as it changed colours over a sunset and sunrise. Our room and the accommodation as a whole was fabulous. So tranquil. The thermal pools were sensational. Staff as a whole worked hard, albeit if you didn’t speak Spanish you would probably find it difficult. Having said that, we are in Chile. The bar food was good and should be more readily available, although we may have visited in the off season.

This is a magical place! It's pricey, but worth it. Our room was small (we knew that when we booked it) because we wanted to stay in the "hobbit" house. It's just adorable. Everything is built of, around and containing trees. There are wonderful forest walks to water cascades (much nicer than the cascades at Petrohue). The dinners were excellent, and we found a wine that we loved on the menu.

Valdivia was nice with the river front markets and sea lions a great spectacle. Lots of tour options and great seafood to try. One must be careful in Valdivia with robberies are not uncommon, specially break ins to vehicles. Had my car broken into. Unsure if I will go back. It left a sour taste the whole experience.

I wouldn’t recommend to rent this place during the winter time. It was very cold inside of the cabin. We had to sleep in skiing jackets and hats. The owners do not provide heaters and it’s next to impossible to heat up the bedrooms. They have a wood stove that doesn’t make much difference. In addition, we had to wake up every two hours to add wood in the stove. However, I can imagine this place can be lovely if you stay during the summer since the view and surroundings are beautiful.

there are lots of great hiking trails in the area, all well marked and extremely scenic. the Bike trail is also good. Netulme itself doesnt have much in town but you come here for the outdoor activities. If you have a good cabin (which we did) and are well supplied you dont need restaurants and bars. for me this was a great place to chill and recharge.

Many international travelers may think: "what's the big deal...

Many international travelers may think: "what's the big deal?" but this is a real university town with an incredibly rich history and a little bit of everything to offer-- that is, if you know how, and where, to look. The pub scene, between Calle Esmerelda and Isla Teja, is undoubtedly one of the best in the country, there is a strong and storied literary and cultured circle that haunts the many cafes and bookstores during the day, and there are plenty of places to shop and pass time, inside or outside. Many Chileans adore the city for the relatively high quality urban experience it offers. If you're looking for a pampered luxury experience or world-class historic or cultural sites, you may be better off going to an all-exlusive resort near one of the many lakes in Chile's southern regions, or getting to some archealogical sites outside of the city itself. But overall Valdivians are community people, and rightly proud of their city. Most locals will be happy to tell you anything about their home; its relics from 16th century Spanish conquista, the 19th century German colonists, its near total destruction in largest earthquake in recorded history (1960), the Pinochet dictatorship, or more recent events. Many historical buildings and sites are better looked after in Valdivia than other cities in Chile (looking at you, Puerto Montt). So, go to Valdivia if you're willing to put in a little bit of effort; get out of your hotel (though I would recommend staying in one of the smaller, locally owned bed and breakfasts), interact with people, ask questions, and find things to do. But if you are looking for a traveleing experience where it's easy to find things to do, and you expect things to be polished, clean, and orderly, this probably isn't the place for you.
