- From US$313.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 700 reviewsHôtel La Maison du Prussien is one of those places that will exceed your expectations in every possible way. Quiet and atmospheric this is a perfect place for those who appreciate tradition, culture and historic heritage. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Service is impeccable. Rooms are charming and unique. The on-site restaurant is one of the very best in Neuchâtel. Every need we had was met far and beyond what was requested. We will definitely come back again. If you demand a hectic hotel with a spa, a pool, a conference hall and hundreds of busy travelers nearby, then this is not a place for you, but you can get this experience anywhere. However, if you are of a type that appreciates history, subtle details, architectural nuances, and everything that is generally encompassed by one word - "l'ambiance", then Hôtel La Maison du Prussien is definitely a place for you. Come and stay there, and you will be glad you chose this place.Guest review byTimurUnited States

Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many attractions in the canton and free public transport. Note that many places are closed on Sundays and/or Mondays. We made the most of the sunshine by taking a train to Buttes and walking in the mountains above the chairlift (included in the tourist pass), with fabulous views over the lake, the Jura and the distant Alps. We also enjoyed a morning boat trip and a peaceful walk through protected marshland at St Blaise. We loved the food in Himalaya Momo.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Don't bother going.
Don't bother going. It feels like a travel lodge, cheap feeling. Staff we ok not their fault. Breakfast an uncomfortable disaster. Clearly they are measuring portions and there is next to nothing on offer. I gave up and didn't eat. Really cheap behaviour for an expensive cost.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland.
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland. Fifth time here, but haven't visited watch museum. As many other Swiss towns it's dying, so enjoy it until it's gone. Less and less people living there. Check a small second hand shop in front of hotel 3 kings - 80% are common household things, but often you can find some rare treasure like 50 years old Swiss knife, portable fondu copper set, vinyls, rare books, cutlery, etc.Guest review byvaldajkoChina - 8.0

Travers is a small town but has everything you need as a traveler (food store, pharmacie, bakery etc...). In Travers and around a lot of activities can be done, for example hiking to Creux du Van, visit of alphast mines, horse riding etc... To reach Travers is very easy by car and there is also a train station which seems to be properly served. If you want to party, it's not really the place since there are not many options to do that. It's a quiet small town.Guest review byBenoitSwitzerland - 10.0

Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops, restaurants and some historical sights. Beware it is very hilly away from lakeside but public transport is very good. Good location from which to explore the area by road or rail (but rail is expensive). Cities such as Bern and Lausanne are just under an hour away.Guest review byJeremyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

In summer Neuchâtel clearly has a North-Italian atmosphere to me, originating from the old town buildings, the vibes in the harbour and even home-made icecream everywhere! Prices are better than other Swiss lakeside cities, and the Neuchâtel Tourist Card makes it easy to get around and profit from sights or lake cruises.Guest review byWolfgangSwitzerland
